Pull Down Menus

I don't know the lingo but it seems like the pull down menus have different characteristics. Some menus (like Forum Jump) will extend outside of the IE window so you can view and access all the displayed menu options, but others, like the one under Forum Tools, lists only within the window. The latter means you have to scroll the window down to get to displayed menu options. My windows always seem a little too short to get to the subscribe to this thread option without scrolling the IE window.

Don't know if it's possible, but it would be great if all the menus would extend outside the IE window to avoid the need for the scrolling of the IE window.

The dropdown menu at the bottom of pages and the dropdown within Forum/Thread Tools at the top are actually two different types, which is why they behave differently. The top one is done with javascript and CSS, whereas the one at the bottom is plain HTML.

Unfortunately, you're going to have to scroll a little to subscribe to a thread.

Also, the way browsers display and scroll HTML menus depends on the browser and varies a good deal (while offering the same functionality) from one browser to another. What bugs you in IE may be perfectly fine in Netscape - and, in other areas, vice versa. If you have a beef it's with Microsoft, not with FT.

There isn't a thing a Web site developer can do about this, short of reprogramming all the HTML menus the same way the others are. There's even less the user of a package that's developed by someone else, which is the FT situation, can do about it - unless they want to spend all their time modifying the source, then losing their changes every time a new release comes out.

This is what I figured your response would be, but it was worth the question ... Cheers.
