One More Forum - Wings

It appears the new Wings alliance between Continental, Northwest/KLM, Alitalia and others players to be named later will be official in the near future. With news and information starting "to leak out", is it possible to add this as a new Forum under "Global Alliances"?

If it's too soon, we'll understand!

Thank you,

Todd

It's not too soon, we don't have to wait for the "official" word, just the interest of FlyerTalkers. Look for it in a few days....thanks for the suggestion

Just wondering....., is there really a Wings Alliance in existence?

If not, should we have a separate Wings forum?, given the fact that such alliance does not exist yet even after years of talk and there are only 6 topics in the last year in the "Wings" forum (1 topic is completely empty), the majority of which really belong in the individual airline forums.

In choosing an alliance, I was confused by the Wings forum and continually searched the net to find out benefits of the alliance, but it seems that there is no such alliance, only certain bilateral arrangements between airlines (which almost all airlines have--separate and independant of formal alliances).

doc thanks for link!

Very interesting news that Continental, Northwest and Delta are forming a frequent flier alliance starting June 18!

However, to avoid confusion, we should probably rename the forum "Continental/Northwest/Delta alliance"

"Wings" appears to have never existed and certainly does not exist now. KLM (and all other non-US carriers) have been expressly excluded from this newly forming alliance.

Actually, if you do a search on Yahoo for "wings alliance" you'll find it does exist now. It may have taken awhile to get going but seems to be well on the way. Specifically listing the airlines, rather than the name of the alliance would mean it would have to be edited everytime another airline joined.

Actually KLM recently said that they would be joining Skyteam. CO and NW will be doing so as well. In the near future Wings should just be incorporated into ST.

Actually tazi, my search results always point to very old references to the "proposed Wings alliance", but it doesn't actually appear to exist (or to have ever existed).

Do you happen to have a web address for the "Wings Alliance"?

The newly forming frequent flyer alliance launching on June 18 between Continental/Northwest/Delta doesn't appear to have a name yet.
