New posts at top of threads
 

I would like to see new posts at top of threads, similar to how email may be sorted. Presently once opening a thread you need to (tediously) scroll all the way to the bottom to see new replies, an unnecessary step if new replies were at the top.

I appreciate that some users may like the new-bottom vs. new-top presentation so perhaps a user-configurable option may be provided?

I agree that a user configuarble option would be a plus, to save time. But, the new posts at the top of a thread would mean scrolling up from the bottom to provide continuity of the thoughts. And if there are many pages in a thread, this would become a bit cumbersome.
Nope, I like that part the way it is.

It is possible with the UBB software. Before I came to FT, I frequented another BB where the new posts were at the top and FT took a little time getting used. But after a few days, I realised it was better to add the post to the bottom. The problem with adding to the top, as blackjack21 noted, is the lack of continuity while reading previous messages.

I like having newer posts at the bottom, but having a profile option to 'automagically' scroll to the bottom of the page would be nice. This way, people who read messages frequently can turn this feature on and they will always go to the bottom of the page where newer posts are.
