Reducing The Size Of The "...edited by..." Line In Our Posts, etc.
[This message has been edited by MRLIMO (edited 11-24-2000).]
In your next FlyerTalk revision I feel it would be very helpful to reduce the size, both in verbage and in point/font size, of the "...edited by..." example above. For example, I would suggest [Edited by MRLIMO 11.24.2000] and reducing the point/font size by 50%. I saw the smaller size on another board and it was unobtrusive yet just as effective as the existing one. It would also be a big help if when we went back in for subsequent edits, it would overwrite the existing "Edited by..." line. We now have to cause this effect manually by deleting that line each time. Not everyone is aware this is even possible and at times some threads end up with many "...edited by..." lines. See example below, please. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif The ability to edit the Topic headline also makes sense to me. We all make mistakes. If at first you don't succeed, try and try again. So I'll try it again.
Please reduce the font size and wording of the: [This message has been edited by MRLIMO (edited 01-01-2525).] Since I'm not perfect, I have the urge to edit often and subsequently much space and bandwidth are unnecessarily wasted in its current format. Perhaps, the same size and line as the "IP: Logged" at the bottom of each post. By being placed on the same line toward the left, and the wording shortened to [Edited by MRLIMO 01.01.2525], it would take no additional lines or line spacing! Still asking after all these years.

Not a bad idea at all! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

well, I like your idea, MRLIMO, but I think that it would take quite a bit of "hacking" into the UBB source code. I'd be happy to try, if the Webflyer folks are too busy with other projects.

markbach, any assistance from any source would be greatly appreciated by this FlyerTalker. The same line and type size as the "IP: Logged" link is the logical location, IMHO.

Hey MrLimo...
If you just sit about 10 feet from your computer monitor, it has the same effect... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Of course, everything else gets smaller as well! (I mean on the screen, silly... get your mind out of the gutter) http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif William |

Yes, either make it a much smaller font, or get rid of it altogether if edited within 30 minutes etc of original post.
