Aeroflot BONUS
In fairness to the former largest airline in the world and some would say worst airline in the world, can we open a new topic in the Airline: Programs section. Aeroflot has a new frequent flyer program called BONUS, or is that a typo and it is called BOGUS. Anyway, I am their latest member and would like to discuss with other BONUS frequent flyers out there about this new and interesting program. Further, I am sure there our other members of FlyerTalk that would like another program to laugh at and make their frequent flyer program look not so bad.

Da, is required that Randy make this, tovarisch!

I just wanted to bring this up to the top again. Can you please add this frequent flyer program to the bulletin board? Aeroflot Bonus is a accual frequent flyer program and should be listed with all the other obscure programs.

I noticed in checking these guys out on the web (their site is well-designed, but low-capability--no online booking, and no FF info) that your fare is not guaranteed until you're on board. If it goes up after you've bought the ticket, you are on the hook for the difference! (It does work both ways--if the fare goes down, you get a refund.) That does not apply to tickets from Russia to another country.
Their throwaway rule is simpler than most--you can use a coupon without having used the preceding ones, but the preceding ones are then invalid. |
And everything that is routed through Gorkiy is subject to a hidden city fare!

I think that it is time to have an Aeroflot forum. They seem to have improved their Web site.

By way of exception, tickets for international travel commencing in the Russian Federation, which have been issued in the Russian Federation with a firm reservation for at least the first international sector and which have been paid for before notification of a fare change shall be accepted for travel without reassessment of the fare provided original reservation is not changed after the date of notification of the fare change. I am a member of Aeroflot Bonus and they are the only FF program that has give me 1000 points/miles for my birthday http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

So I guess we just post away here and hope that the thread will get moved to somewhere appropriate? Maybe the "Misplaced Posts" forum? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
So let me get this straight - buy a ticket today, but when you get to the airport next week, we may have to demand - oh, say - another zillion rubles? This sounds like the sales prevention department to me - must be a finance guy writing this policy http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif How often does this happen? What kind of airline options exist in that market?? |

Again this is a flyer/traveler forum.
Aeroflot is offering IAD-MOW in C for $1829. Looks like the 767 that everyone else uses, just has a bit of smoking around the edges. We need an Aeroflot forum. |
