Browser extension decoder for FT jargon?
I've got a plug in for my browser (Google Dictionary) that defines any word as soon as I highlight it. Wouldn't it be cool if someone could create the same thing for FT jargon?
For instance, right now it would take a LONG time to decode about 5 terms in this to get any meaning from this one paragraph: "The only snag was that the AA Vacations apparently cannot apply a SWU, as the air booking is done by a different "division" of AA. There is a lag period between booking and ticketing by that division when the EXP desk cannot access the PNR. If you are planning on applying a SWU, you will have to wait for the status to change to "ticketed" before you can have the SWUs applied--not a long wait, but long enough in my case for one of the flights to go to C=0. EXP desk was able to fix, but be warned." EXP desk? access the PNR? applying a SWU? C=0? The only thing I know is that "AA Vacations" are Alcoholics Anonymous Vacations. OMG, are they fun! |

There is a lag period between booking and ticketing by that division when the Executive Platinum desk cannot access the Passenger Name Record. If you are planning on applying a System-Wide Upgrade, you will have to wait for the status to change to "ticketed" before you can have the System-Wide Upgrades applied--not a long wait, but long enough in my case for one of the flights to go to Business Class Inventory=Zero. The Executive Platinum desk was able to fix, but be warned." EXP desk? A special telephone call center available to Executive Platinum members of American Airlines--people who fly AA [and some partners] at least 100,000 miles per year access the PNR? The call-center representative pulling up the itinerary in their system; PNR is an industry term applying a SWU? Executive Platinum members of AA earn 8 SWUs per year, which allow them to upgrade an itinerary from coach to business class or business class to first class on any single route across the entire AA system (worldwide) C=0? SWUs can only be applied if there is upgradeable inventory available. The person in the quoted post is warning that you may buy a particular itinerary through American Airlines' Vacations subdivision after verifying that the flights have upgradeable business class inventory, but you cannot actually apply the SWU (and confirm the upgrade) until the reservation has been fully processed by AA ("ticketed"), which can take long enough that others snatch up the available upgradeable inventory before you are able to confirm your own upgrade...thereby leaving you in coach. |
