Can someone explain the reasoning for aggressively merging threads?
Hey all -
I'm all about merging threads, but I find FT leans much more to merging and ends up with the majority (just sampling the first few pages) of threads that are huuuuuge and sometimes run years of first to latest post.
Why not let some new ones go and grow vs merging at, IMO, the first scent of related question/post?
I'm guessing there is a reason for this, but I'm finding it harder and harder to search (either G* or FT search) and find relevant info in the sea of a single thread having hundreds of merged in topics.
thanks
