Suggestion: Oman Airlines Forum

Oman air is a rapidly growing airline in the middle east that aims to compete with the likes of the "me3" by connecting South East Asia/Subcontinent and Oman to Western Europe. Their onboard product and new airport are among the best in the world and their Sindbad FF program is the best in the region. https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/other-middle-eastern-african-airlines-471/ already has a fair enough number of WY posts to warrant a seperate forum. Thanks

Thank you.

Ill add the guidelines for suggesting new fora:

Supporting data are always appreciated. See Suggestion: Create MH / Malaysia Airlines forum (forum created) for examples.

1. Will the forum be (or is it now) beneficial to FlyerTalk? How?

2. Is FlyerTalk the best place to discuss this subject?

3. Will the new forum benefit a relationship with FlyerTalk? E.g., does the forum provide value for FT members, such as an avid number of existing member service provider users or a friendly ear highly placed in the company?)

4. Is there a passionate following? This is essential in maintaining active and vigorous discussion, as well as involving knowledgeable members to get questions answered.

5. Is a critical mass of posts and readers anticipated or already in existence? A forum needs adequate traffic to keep everyone visiting frequently. One living forum is more valuable than two mostly inactive ones.

6. Is this the best place on FlyerTalk for this subject? This is the classification issue: the answer depends in part on whether or where the discussion might (or already does) occur in the absence of the suggested forum.

7. For proposals to split a forum: What benefits can be expected? Is the split expected to improve the "signal to noise ratio"? Why?

8. Forum "sunsetting":The administration does not anticipate using automatic sunsetting of forums as a response to weakness in a newly created forum, preferring instead to create forums only when we they are strongly expected to succeed.

Definitely keen to see a WY forum here - have flown them a couple of times now with the QR option having gone for UAE residents... J class on WY is definitely competitive in comparison to ME3 carriers although sometimes clear issues are apparent when drawing a comparison between the new MCT WY J Lounge vs. DXB EK J Lounge... quality of champagne (Lanson vs. Moet) on the ground and choices of other alcoholic beverages are rather poor - limited / repetitive vegetarian menu options with the lack of snacks (crisps / quality nuts) are another issue. Nevertheless, WY can't be beaten on pricing especially when they're running promotions and EK + EY offer fares that amount to daylight robbery and extortion when traveling from the UAE...

Just an impartial observation: 28 threads covering Oman Air were active during the last 12 months. The airline hasnt really generated a buzz thus far. If anything Ethiopian Airlines stands out as the dominant carrier FTers enjoy discussing in the Other Middle Eastern and African Airlines forum

ET really deserves a thread in my opinion, because it is the dominant carrier of Africa. WY is a major airline in the ME that is expanding at great pace.
