Do you know roughly when this promo will be announced and to whom it will be targetted?

I loved the "you choose" promo from last year - it had the most flexibility and rounded out my stays last year (and rewarded them) quite nicely .

you choose was perhaps the best SPG promo in years.

Respect to all those who need/would like double stay credits. I personally do not need double stays, but would love to chuh-chuh-choooose from a few options.

Double Stays

It has been a tough travel year. No problem with Marriott, but not staying in enough cities with SPG properties. Trying hard, but probably won't make it without a 2X stay promo. Would that drive me all the way to Marriott? I hope not.

Double Stay promotions.

Ideal opportunity to enhance (don't you just love that word) the SPG program.
Create a new tier by promoting Plats who renew to a higher level say Sapphire with additional benefits e.g.confirmed upgrades
Those who come close or need a Double Stay promotion get Plat status

Since all the other levels are metal, how about Iridium, Protactinium, or Ytterbium?

You seen the price of Iridium lately? Worth about as much as a Madoff IOU card!

Well I am certainly not alone here in hoping for the same thing .

I will easily make my GOLD SPG status but I want to strive for PLAT this year, so come on SPG, make me go for it ! Otherwise I will keep my wallet shut at 10 stays and will see what I can do with PC for status.

YOU CHOOSE promo with double stays as an option is the way to go ^. Leaving EAME and AP out for all of August was not a great decision IMHO . So I am hoping for something really good to make up for it .
