Another great promo from SPG. This will not only influence my business stays, but will now influence a couple of summer weekends.

I would assume the qualification on stays is on purpose to spread around the impact of promotions like this to more properties.

This is one of the best promotions out of Starwood in a long time.

I think I will be seeing a lot of the St. Regis San Francisco this summer .

Really a great promo. Should easily earn 20+ "free" weekend nights.

This promo will certainly encourage hotel hopping...
this is what i was thinking. . Seattle area has a Sheraton in Bellvue for under $99 also Portland is close (thinking a Memorial weekend trip might be fun) they have Four Points and Sheraton under$100.

Wow I love this one!! Living in AZ means cheap rates at nice properties...so even without a lot of travel on the horizon this works. Figure I stay 4 nights (spread out) at the Westin Kierland at their special AZ resident rate of $89.

$400 total spend gets me:
2000 plat amenity pts
1200 spg points
800 SPG amex points
4 stays toward plat (I need it)
4 nights at Kierland - 8 days at the pools
2 nights at St Regis Monarch Beach this July

Love it

okay could someone tell me if this would work? I'm thinking of planning a trip for Memorial weekend and take our mom's and kids.

I'm a Platinum member and my hubby is Gold.

Say I were to book 1 night at Four points 1 night at Sheraton.

then my hubby book the 2nd room in his name (1 night at each).

Would we then BOTH earn a free weekend night?

Yeah, well, somehow I don't think anyone on this forum needs this reminder!

I think that should work. Make sure you use a credit card in your name for your nights and he uses a credit card in his name for his nights.

What does it mean when is says "Peak Season" under the hotel name?

ya, we each have *wood Amex so can rack up the extra points too..

so would i need to WAIT and reserve our rooms AFTER May 1? Working on a May 23rd and May 24th stay and rates are okay right now. . .would hate to see them jump up in May.

Cat. 5 and up properties normally have regular and peak seasons which translate into different redemption rates depending on the season. Those have been suspended for 2009.

By the way, this is a fun promo. Not what I was expecting or hoping for (had double stays on my mind...), but it suddenly looks like we're going to have some free nights to play with at some properties we wouldn't normally splurge for. Looks like Mrs. Goodman and I need to have a talk. Hmmm...

No Dont wait book now. It will count as long as your actual stay is between May 1 and July 31
