Anyone have experience on the comps?

Stayed during CES week, got a Resort room with a great view of the fountains via SPG Gold. Buffet not a good value since Bellagio is only $2-3 more across the street and elevators could use reconditioning (not the smoothest ride up).

Well Im Happy to report its doable and easy. However I wouldnt do it with anything more then say a 21" Rollerboard.

Ok, you go into the Shop area and you will see the escalators going up & down. take it down and follow the signs for TAXI do not go VALET. Walk out the doors and make a right theres sort of sidewalk that ends and begins a couple of times, I simply walked in the roadway. Its the same amount of walking as the Mall which is right above but I found it to be much quicker.

I went in and out this way, that is if you want/need to stop at the Front Desk.

Again I wouldnt do this unless I had a small rollerboard or a garmet bag that was on my shoulders.

Had room xx51 and it was GREAT, what a difference the new look makes

For those on the TZOO promo, I was there on Sun and then again on Tues night, I was able to get the $25 match-play and $10 slot promo Both times.I was Raleigh on Mon night, so checking in and out w/o it being a consecutive stay will get you the promos each time.

If you have some time, I did the Westgate Time-share tour and got $160 in chips, unfortunately they are a 1 time use only win or lose the promo chip is taken. Ended up winning $110 is reg chips that I cashed in on. Not bad for 90 mins of my time

Glad it worked out for you. I guess I was too concerned about taxis and other drivers zooming around to give it a try, but it sounds like you had no problems.

I am pretty new to Starwood and to Flyertalk and I have what may seem like a weird question. I usually visit Vegas several times a year although I do not gamble much. I stayed at this hotel a back in September. When I was there I watched the very liberal Fox News channel. It helps put me to sleep at night.

I again visited this hotel this week and the channel was no longer offerred. There were still about 50-75 channels and many of them had much lower ratings than Fox News. Does anyone know how or why this would be? Is it normal for Starwood properties to make channel changes? If I were to complain about the change, who should I complain to?

BTW, they did upgrade me again to a remodeled suite overlooking Bellagio.

Is that a bad joke?

I'm sorry, I've heard Fox News called a lot of things, but "liberal" certainly was never one of them! Was your comment snark? Hard to tell just from reading the words online.

I don't mean to start a discussion of politics, I think that's a bad idea here and OT as well, but the comment shocked me so much I felt I had to reply!

I just sent the general manager at Planet Hollywood and SPG Corporate a commendatory letter for making this change, even though it will be much more difficult for me to get to sleep.

I wasn't joking. I won't turn this into a political discussion but I will say that term conservative Republican is an oxymoron. If you wish a political discussion feel free to PM me.

I would really like to know about channel selections and changes at Starwood properties which was the purpose for my original post.

Cable News/Faux News channels aside, my recent stays at PH were great. I like the remodel: I expected it to be cheesy with the PH theme, but it turned out well and the room renovations are contemporary with the room plasmas, desk chairs, lamps and beds all very welcome improvements over the Aladdin. They continue with consistent recognition of SPG Elites by offering, suites, high floors, strip facing rooms and very fast posting of points. ^

I wish there was someplace in the complex with free wifi, as the coffee bean's router has had a self-assigned IP for as long as I can remember...

Happened to stay at the PH at the same time when nroscoe, bigguyinpasadena, and some other FT members were staying there.

Overall the checking experience was good. On the first stay I had one of the Vista rooms facing the fountains of Bellagio.

On my second stay I had one of the basic suites. Overall the rooms are satisfactory but no one should expect luxury experience here. The bathroom is large. As a matter of fact I would have rather had more space on the room/suite.

Ordered bottle of Veuve Clicquot at 3AM on Monday morning and got it to the suite fast. BTW it was surprisingly reasonably priced for a room service in Vegas.

Interesting... must have been a special "occasion" to order Veuve at 3AM?

Nor really. Just needed to have a night cap before my 9AM flight back to LA.
