jw713,

Thanks for the post. Previously the Westin was the only property in Vegas that had the 2/3 deal. It looks like it's valid for stays through Dec 31st.

I was hoping to take advantage of this promo myself but am actually saving about $75 but using an SPG50 for my upcoming stay.

just be sure to take into account the Westin LV's new mandatory $10 per night 'hotel amenity fee'

This "wonderful fee" allows such things as free parking in the Westin lot and the use of their mediocre pool--and the use of a lounger when you're at it.

I recently received a snail mail flyer inviting me to a complimentary weekday night with a two night stay at PH (and a whole bunch of other gambling and dining credits); the offer is only good unit April 30th though.

BTW did you signed up for their players club (or whatever it is called at PH) and gambled there? I have not received any snail mail from them and I believe that we stayed there during the same weekend.

Should I have gotten SPG points for my free stay?

I recently stayed at the PH for 3 nights as part of a free offer I received in the mail which included the 3 free nights, $150 in restaurant credit, $350 in gaming chips and 2 free tickets to Stomp Out Loud.

I didnt realize until now that they are a Starwood property. If I had given them my SPG Gold card would I have been eligible for an upgrade and/or points??

Agreed..spending 12k points for a weeknight is pretty stupid. Sometimes they have rooms as low as $59. The only time i ever use points in vegas is during a weekend when rooms are 300+.

An unknown part here for me is the "free" stay part as I've not gambled enough to get a comp'ed stay offer at PH but I have had several casino rate stays.

In any case, I'd recommend you always call ahead and have them add your Starwood # to your reservation (or do so at check-in)! Calling ahead might be better as, when I have done so, I have always already been "upgraded" by the time I check-in; the one time I added my # at check-in it took quite a bit longer to be re-assigned an upgraded room.

Although not "guaranteed", from my experiences here as a Starwood Gold member, I have always been upgraded to a resort view room (usually with a fantastic view of the Bellagio) when paying a casino rate (as low as $49 a weekday night). As a Gold you will, most likely, never get a suite upgrade but IMO the resort view rooms are quite nice. Also, if you add your Starwood number to your reservation, be sure to charge something to your room (i.e. a buffet, etc) and you should get Starwood points and stay credit even on a casino rate; at least I always have.

Is the Club Aladdin players membership card still any good here

Or should I just cut it up?

Club Aladdin is gone. Current slot club is called The A-List.

I think they "converted" everyone to it when they switched over but, if not and you need to join again, it could work out better as you might get something (free slot play, etc) when you join as new again.

If you don't have any points from Club Aladdin (or not enough to be concerned about), you might just try joining as a new member. However, if you had enough points, take your card with you and see if they "converted" you and tranferred the points.

p.s.
I kept my Club Aladdin card; never know if it will be a "collectable" some day.

Pretty simple really...they no longer have limited participation in SPG, they fully participate in SPG.

Thanks, sure I had quite a few points as I had never used them for anything.

Will take the card along and see what they say the next time I stay.
