I got the email earlier today.

This sounds a lot like the CO OnePass 21st anniversary event

They should've made the reception on Saturday. It'd be more tempting for me to go...

I am interested in hearing more about the 1 million starpoints .. is there a gauranteed winner or is it a "chance to win" as in .. if you get a blackjack using the ace and king of diamonds between 9 pm and 9:02 you win!

LOL, I suspect there would be a winner. Anyway, 300 Plats at 20,000 Starpoints a pop means that Starwood will have more than enough points in the till for the prize fund

I just got the invite and I feel like going even though I'm in Europe. It looks like a lot of fun, especially the Blackjack tournament. 21 is one of the few things I'm actually good at!

However I really don't feel like taking yet another another umpteen-hour flight so I'll pass on this one. Someone else can have my place.

Hi runfromthefire,

Let me provide an answer from my colleague.

"The blackjack tournament will consist of multiple rounds of play. The two players at the end of each round with the highest chip value will advance rounds and the winner of the final round will receive the Grand Prize of 1MM Starpoints. "

(BTW, I like your nick.)

Non-Plats that wish to come to Vegas that weekend might be interested in the AAA rate of $169 at the Westin.

The PH is currently showing as sold out that weekend.

$89 looks like a decent deal for the additional dates. I assume that no upgrades are allowed on those days, either, but I don't know what they mean by, "Elite or Platinum member standard in-hotel benefits do not apply for the nights of November 7–8."

Wish I could go to this one, but it doesn't fit in my schedule.

I assume that there might be some FTers going solo and some wishing to bring more than one guest. If anyone is considering more than one guest in their room, y'all might wish to post a request to trade with solo guests for extra guest tickets to the shows, breakfasts, and the evening reception. Likewise, extra guest tickets might be of interest to a FTer staying at another nearby hotel. @:-)

If a FT DO is to be arranged during the weekend, be sure to post it to CommunityBuzz!

This doesn't fit my schedule either, however, I think it is yet another concrete example of why SPG is far and away the best program in the business!

Taxes and Fees

Any taxes or fees resulting from Starpoints winnings from the SPG member-only blackjack tournament will be the sole responsibility of the member.

If you win the 1 Million Starpoints, what taxes or fees do you think you'd be charged?
