You'd get
100,000 bonus starpoints
25,000 platinum amenity (50*500)
25,000 online booking (50*500)
15,000 Revenue (3*5000)
10,000 Starwood CC (2*5000)
6,500 Flyertalk bonus (~13*500 til 9-30)
8,000 Far Away is closer (~8*1000 til 9-30)
-------------
189,500 for $5,000 = 2.63 cents per point or 37.9 pts per $ spent

+ 13,000 chicago bonus (if applicable)
-------------
192,500
Nice job adding that up, newlin99! You missed the 888 promo bonus for arriving on a Fri/Sat night until Sept. 27th, though! Oh, and the Quadruple points for the aloft bonus...

It would be a nice promotion to see 100,000 points given for stays at each Starwood brand like the 2003 Asia/Pacific promotion for 50,000 points for staying at 5 of the 6 Starwood brands.

There are now 9 Starwood brands.

Don't forget the quadruple points for aloft properties. And I'm sure there would be BRG's in there somewhere.

Oh and don't forget to complain at every 3rd stay for some goodwill points.

Sense-check your software before you launch it !

Click on the promo link and you get a nice countdown clock :

TIME UNTIL PROMOTION LAUNCH:
24 : 14 : 31 : 36 GMT
DAYS HRS MIN SEC

A time zone (GMT in my case) on a countdown clock ? Huh ?

OT, but: I have a colleague that was LY PLT for a few years. One year she was pregnant and obviously there was a significant chunk of the time where she didn't fly. She contacted LY and they comped her status for a period of time and gave her a challenge of sorts to keep it for the full year.

I would be surprised if you provided SPG with documentation of this and a letter requesting to have your status extended and they wouldn't agree to extend it. The worst that can happen is they say now.

This question is for Lurkers. Lurkers, will stays from Sept 1-16 qualify for this new promo? I have a couple of stays during this time frame. If they will qualify for the new promo, I might switch from award to paid stays...

Hyatt FFN launched this week so perhaps this is a promo to actually compete against this promotion.
