At KING EDDIE now, a big suite is waiting without asking, lounge is open during the weekend, excellent location, north to Eaton Center, South to the lake, all within walking distance. it looks the first choice for SPG Platium in Toronto

Golds into club lounge

I'm surprised that Golds have had such good upgrades. I might have to choose them over the Four Points...

Is it possible that the Meridien will let Golds into the club lounge?

I believe Parking is pricy, forget the price, guess CA$25-30 for valet?

Actually u can call the hotel to check the exact price

After I switched the reservation from Sheraton to King Eddies, I also cancelled the Hertz reservation, then I took the subway to the hotel, exited at " King" Station, just half block to the hotel

I am platium, so no expereince for gold upgrade, sorry

Just a follow-up: I've noticed the reviews on TripAdvisor are all over the place. Though quite a few are from Priceline folks that obviously got the PL room. As a Plat staying on cash and points should I be concerned? I can get the Harbour Castle for the same c&p.

in the past 2 months, stayed at King Ed two more times, both upgrade to the large suites, overall this year 4 out of 4, breakfasts are provided at lounge on weekends

also stayed twice at sheraton parkway North on Hwy 7, the first stay was placed at an old tower which has a platium lounge, the second stay was at a newer tower without lounge, so had a lot of walk to get to the lounge for breakfast, both suites but they are not as nicer as King Ed, breakfasts are provided at lounge on weekends

1 stay at airport SHeraton, excellent hotel though no upgrade bcuase of full house, Lounge provides breakfast and happy hour on weekends also

also 2 more stays at 4 Pts Airport West, so so, no breakfast

Alright, will resist temptation/second-guessing (and Harbour Castle on Starpicks this weekend) and stick with the King. Thanks.

have never stayed at Harbour Castle before, seeing starpicks rate at CDN149

I Know there is no lounge, do they provide platium breakfast coupon or not?
and how about the room upgrade?

No concern

Points stay, paid stay, and C&P stay all receive the same treatments at King Ed, actually I did all

Not experience on PL stay

Can anybody comment on breakfast? Also, are all rooms renovated?

No free breakfast for platium

upgrade is just a corner room with harbourview, that is about it. Rooms seem to be all renovated

do not stay that hotel till 9/1 since it does not participate 3K SPG bonus Pts per stay promotion

as for breakfasts:

all 3 westins in TO have no free breakfast for elite
all 3 sheratons in TO have free breakfast for elite

However King Edy is the best for elite, stay 7 times all suites no matter paid stay, C&P or award stay, last time scored a Royal Suite which is > 1800 Sq Fts

Although no elite breakfast, they do have a promotional Bed & Breakfast rate from $199.00 that includes the buffett breakfast in the Mizzen restaurant and valet parking. Not a bad deal for this hotel IMO. However, the King Edward deal of parking and the Esso card from $159 is a better deal, and the King Eddie is my favorite SPG property in Toronto (and has a lounge).
