SPG.com MAJOR annoyance: Need to log-in repeatedly
Am I the only one that needs to constantly/repeatedly enter my username and password at virtually every step when making an online reservation at SPG.com? Enter city and state, log-in screen appears, enter username and password. Select hotel, log-in screen appears, enter username and password. Enter date of reservation, log-in screen appears, enter username and password. Select room type, log-in screen appears, enter username and password. Complete reservation, log-in screen appears, enter username and password. And so on and so forth. I kid you not. Literally at every step, I am prompted for my username and password. Not just online reservation but the same thing happens when I check my account activities. ... is going on?
FWIW, I am using Macs (desktop and notebook) on OS X 10.3.9. This has been going on forever but I just reached my saturation point today.
I would appreciate feedback so I can determine if I'm the only one experiencing this problem in which case I need to call Apple and spend a few minutes troubleshooting it. If others are experiencing the same annoyance then I know where to rest the blame on.
TIA

I think I saw this problem mentioned on this thread:
Website Issues? Post Here!
(which I found via The SPG Forum Primary Resource Thread sticky at the top of this forum).

I have the same problem at work, but never at home. I figured it had soemthign to do with my company's security policies interacting in a bad way with SPG's log on system, but maybe I was giving SPG too much benefit of the doubt.

Yeah, the site programming seems to be flawed.
However, I wouldn't say that this rises to the level of "MAJOR annoyance." Maybe "minor annoyance"?

I suspect this can happen when you use more than one PC to log onto spg.com

Yeah, I get this often on SPG.COM as well. But don't think that hhonors.com is any better. If anything, Hilton is much worse.

Same configuration -- and I have the same issues, though not quite to the degree as the original poster.
SPG doesn't remember me as it used to; I have to log in every time I come to the page, then again every time I do anything that they might consider remotely private. It's very annoying. In fact, I have to log in more on SPG to make a hotel reservation than I do to access money on the online banking sites I use.
As so many people are having this problem, we'll leave this thread here on the main page to get as much feedback as possible, and perhaps the Web Gurus will see it and take notice.

I don't have this problem.
Ironically, I just had to login to flyertalk for the first time in a LONG time in order to respond to this post.
Windows XP Pro with IE 6.0 SP2.
