I got two of them,

1 earn 1 free weekend night after 4 stays up to three nights

2 earn 4000 points after 4 stays up to 20K

I picked free nights because it can use for Cat 1-5, not 4 anymore!!
Night must used before Dec 30, 2007

I got the following (SPG Gold):

Choose one of the following options:

Earn up to three Free Weekend Nights.
Stay three times between June 1 and August 31, 2007, and get a Free Weekend Night (up to three nights free) when you register by July 15, 2007.

Earn up to 18,000 bonus Starpoints.
Stay three times and earn 3,000 bonus Starpoints®, stay six times and earn 9,000 bonus Starpoints or stay nine times and earn 18,000 bonus Starpoints when you register by July 15, 2007, and stay between June 1 and August 31, 2007.

Haven't decided which yet...

Register by July 15, 2007, and earn 2,000 bonus Starpoints when you stay two times; 6,000 bonus Starpoints when you stay four times or 12,000
bonus Starpoints when you stay six times between June 1 and August 31, 2007.

Terms and Conditions:

Offer is non-transferable and void for Starwood employees. Member must register online at SPG.com/promo by July 15, 2007. A total of 12,000 bonus Starpoints may be earned: two eligible stays 2,000 bonus Starpoints; four eligible stays 6,000 total bonus Starpoints; six eligible stays 12,000 total bonus Starpoints. Stays must be at participating properties between June 1 and August 31, 2007.
I got only this choice. It makes sense as I do have a lot of one night stays at the hotels.

Problem: What are the participating hotels here as no ones are specifically mentioned?

Not a problem. Any global hotel that normally participates in the SPG program will qualify for this promotion.

I got the offer for weekend nights or Points, took the points. Slightly different then the OP

"Thank you for registering for this Starwood Preferred Guest(R)
promotion. Now you can earn 4,000, 12,000 or 20,000 bonus
Starpoints(R) when you stay four, eight or twelve times between
June 1 and August 31, 2007."

I'd like to understand the math there

4 stays = 4k
8 stays = 12k (2.5 times)
12 stays = 20k (>1.5 times)

Good math starwood.

Ditto. I'm SPG Gold. Planning a trip to NYC, so got to check if any NYC props are Cat. 5. Otherwise most likely will take the points.

Okay, so there are 4 cat 5 props in NYC. I'm going for the free weekend nights.

Thanks Starwood^

I got:

Register by July 15, 2007, and earn triple Starpoints® on all your stays with Starwood Hotels & Resorts between June 1 and August 31, 2007. You can redeem Starpoints for free nights, free flights and on-the-spot indulgences unique to each hotel. And there are no blackout dates on Free Night Awards, so if we have a standard room on the date of your choice, it's yours.

Good math starwood.

4 stays = 4k -> 1k per stay
8 stays = 12k -> 1.5k per stay
12 stays = 20k -> 1.67k per stay

Good deal, and I will likely choose the free weekend nights. My only complaint is that I am tired of the incentives to switch hotels each night to build stays. I have had 19 one-night stands this year, most of them in the past month or so. I figured I'd settle in for longer stays once I hit Plat, but now I get the incentive to keep on moving.

I've gone for the free weekend nights promotion as I've definitely got 6 leisure stays in the diary during the promo period. Two nights at a category 5 is worth a bit more than 9,000 points, so it was this one all the way for me when I was given the choice.

Thanks to the OP for the info.

I got "up to 9000 points," no selection.

Thanks to OP, as I didn't know without your post...

Stupid question, but I am going to ask anyways. Any chance that using one of these free nights could actually earn night/stay credit? It doesn't specifically state in the promotion's T&Cs.
