How long is it taking for Starpoints to turn up in UA Mileage Plus account, when doing a regular transfer? I check impatiently every day, it's been weeks... oh wait, only six days.

I've learned a lot about UA MP + Starwood Starpoints from recent reading -- thanks FTers for all the info on direct deposit, etc. I'll post some pertinent thread URLs since this is the "Master Thread:"

UA - Transferred 1 Sept 2008, Posted 13 Sept 2008

UA - Transferred 1 Sept 2008, Posted 13 Sept 2008. Although this was a small number of poitns transferred ( to keep UA miles from expiring) and no 25% bonus involved. Just FYI

How long for points to transfer to United Mileage Plus

While I know it is not a good deal, I needed to top up my UA account in order to claim an award.

Any recent experiences on exactly how long this takes?

Thanks!

United Miles to SPG points??

I've read a lot of articles about transferring SPG to UA.

But what about the reverse? I have a lot of UA miles and would like to transfer them to my SPG account. Yet... I can't find a good link for this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Michael

You cannot transfer UA miles out to any other program.

Wah!

How else can I get SPG points other than staying at a SPG property?

In addition to Thyetus' suggestion, see http://webflyer.com/programs/mileage_converter/.

Gaobest, try FT's own forum The Coupon Connection. Expect to offer 25--30K UA or any miles for 20K SPG.

Thank you! I learned (rather quickly) that 30000 AA miles converts to 9000 SPG via Diner's Club. Fascinating conversion program, wow.

Also thanks for the tip on Coupon Connection, that is new to me so very fascinating to read...

On tCC someone would probably give U 16--20K SPG for 30K AA! Maybe someone who has 35K DC which s/he intends to convert to 41K AA could convert it to your SPG instead, while U issue an award ticket for him using your AA!
