Leaving Starwood on December 15, 2015

The W San Diego will be leaving the Starwood system on December 15, 2015. Reservations for dates on or after December 15, 2015, will not be eligible for Starwood Preferred Guest membership benefits, award redemption or accrual.

Stayed there for 2 nights this week. Not sure if I was upgraded, it was a room on the second highest floor. The woman at check-in never asked about the Plat amenity but it did show up on my statement.
Overall this hotel is fine, but I think I prefer the US Grant

The W Guangzhou was the first W to actually have a club lounge.. not sure if future Ws will follow suit...

No lounge, but there's a cool bar on the 4th(?) floor with a sandpit where you can lounge in.

If you have to ask yourself whether you're cool enough or young enough to hang out at a bar where you're supposed to relax in a sand-pit the answer is no.
