Sheraton Broadway Plantation, Mertyl Beach (SVO property)
Hi All,
I will be in Myrtle Beach in October. I ran a search but nothing came up regarding the Plantation resort there. I was wondering if this is better choice than the Four Points. Given that would anybody recommend doing the Four Points since it is Ocean Front? Also any upgrade experiences would be appreciated. Thanks for your advise. |

No stay credit either, but you can earn a flat rate of 1,000 Starpoints for paying a qualifying rate. Special note: SVO properties do not offer non-smoking accommodations. Sincerely, William R. cough cough cough
Thought I would blow the dust off this thread. My family and I used our resort nights from the promo here over the Thanksgiving holiday. I have to say, we loved 99% of the stay. We had 2 rooms, connected. One was a standard, it had 1br (queen), kitchenette, sleeper sofa, LR, private patio, and washer/dryer. It connected to a deluxe, full kitchen, breakfast bar, w/d, DR, LR, sleeper sofa, patio, king 1br, jet tub, over sized bath room and seperate shower. We did not explore the grounds much, but it appeared great. We were less than 1/2 mile from Broadway at the beach. About 3 miles from the beach and will be returning for baseball tourney's at Ripken facility. My ONLY grumble, I have been fighting for my platinum amenity for the one night I paid for. After speaking with 3 people over 2 weeks, I am now being told this property has limited participation in SPG, and does not give amenity points. Please note, I knew the limited participation, it is on their website, and it outlines what the do not provide, and amenity points is not one of them. While this will not prevent me from returning, it IS a rather big disappointment considering I chose this property over the Equinox. |
As usual, the lurkers have come to the rescue.
Apparently the new rule is that as of 11/11, there should be platinum amenities. Lurkers feel free to elaborate as you desire. |
This is, at best, a family orientated facility that, at best, fits in with the general feel of Myrtle Beach. Altho the connecting rooms (1 bedroom + the lock-off) are adequate, I'd still give it a C+ or B- grade.
Having said that ... I spent many summer months at Myrtle Beach as a kid .... but that was 35+ years ago. And when we drove thru there this summer for the first time in 35 years, not much had changed. |
I think that the biggest downside to Sheraton Broadway is that it's not directly on the beach. When I go to the beach, I want to be able to see the ocean from my room.

Where did you hear that from?

Stawood Lurker, what you quoted seems contradictory to what etsmyers is claiming: that as of 11/11 members SHOULD get platinum amenities.

Platinum welcome amenities are in-hotel benefits. Except for three SVO properties, the only in-hotel benefits off the table are a 4 PM late check-out and upgrades. If Platinum welcome amenities were also off the table, it would read: "(b) Members do not receive the in-hotel benefits of Platinum welcome amenities, upgrades and late check-out" Best regards, William R. Does anyone know if there's free breakfast here? Thanks

Thought I would update this thread as I stayed there last week. Got a two bedroom suite which was definitely not worth 25K points. It was a routine vacation club suite that I probably could have gotten elsewhere with a bit of research. It was clean, but I just kicked myself that I blew 75K for three nights at a white trash time share.....live and learn.

I am thinking of staying here in July for a work trip and just wanted to clarify, does this property not earn stay/night credits?
