SPG50 rate after merger?

This might be a discussed question but I found no clue.

What happens to the SPG50 rate? (1000 points for 50% off RACK rate up to 7 days) Although this is a rate not widely used but sometimes it is really a good deal. (The old SPG term says it's agent eligible so I successfully booked the rate with Citi Prestige 4th night free and ended up with about 3,000 Euros for 4 nights in an overwater villa at St Regis Bora Bora.)

Any updates? Or the rate is simply discontinued?

I would love to know as well, but unless there was a similar deal on the Marriott side, I would imagine it's gone.

Hoping it is still in existence as well. I would guess it might still be an option on the SPG side.

Hi alexyczhu,

We are advised that the SPG50 Awards are no longer offered as part of the new Program.

Darn, is there anyway to get something equivalent? I have an unused SPG50 certificate in my desk drawer.
