Didn't think an Aloft could go that far for a welcome! And did learn a lot about the new info hotels have on us...from now on. So even if my Ambassador sucks at even doing the minimum service, properties still rocks. Good as at the end of the day, it's the property that make the difference!

I guess its all depends on the property and more specificly to the fdc who handles your check in.

Last SPG stay will be St Regis SG, stay with them many times, great hotel, great staff, but unfortunately quite stingy on upgrade either because they too full or just stingy :D

First stay at new program, Al Maha Desert Resort
It was amazing, and I believe changing of the program didnt affect the stay

My last stay was at the Sheraton Grand Los Angeles. Upgraded and had a decent stay. I'll miss SPG.

Element of Redmond, WA

I'd been there a few times before, but always on weekends so this was my first weekday stay with a reception. Reminded me of IHG's Kimpton brand social hour in the lobby. I like the property, so it's frustrating that Marriott will be cutting points earning back to 50% as well as welcome points from 750 (250 x 3) to 500.

I also don't understand the logic of cutting back element earnings. It was way nicer than any of Marriott's extended offerings, which I would've offloaded if I were them. What do I know?

A couple of nights at the Sheraton Grande London checking out on 18th. Felt sad.
