Le Meridien Bangkok for me, which was a good result because it was nearly a depressing mega-Sheraton.

I'm spending a long weekend at an aloft in Europe. I'm pretty sure there won't be any SPG farewell party organized by the GM, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a sunrise "welcome to Marriott" on the 19th. I stayed at a Radisson in Paris a few years ago, which re-flagged to Marriott overnight (Ambassador Opera), and while they had all sorts of trouble with reservations and billing, on the very first morning, the housekeeping carts were piled high with bibles. When I returned to my room in the afternoon, one had been placed on my coffee table. Those heathen European housekeepers didn't even know what to do with them! Looking around my aloft room, it occurs to me that there's no obvious place to store them, so maybe instead of that generous introductory promo some have been hoping for, the money will be spent to hire contractors to attach some drawers next to the bed?

Le Royal Meridien Shangha, probably do 170+ days there this year. Won't change much whether SPG or something other, LOL

Four Points by Sheraton Catania

I am in the middle of a 10-nights stay at the Four Points by Sheraton Catania in Sicily.
I am a regular at this property, but I have seen my recognition going downhill there in the past 2 years.

My final SPG Hotel was the Ovolo Southside in HK and my first under MR will be Le Meridien Saigon. Thankfully I have two upcoming reservations at my all time favourite Le Meriden Bangkok to ease into the new programme over the coming months.

My finale was at the Prince Gallery Tokyo, where as an act of adieu they seem to have managed to get rid of my book when I still had 30 pages to read...

Thank you for everything, SPG.

Was lucky enough to stay at this Westin last year this time, and was given one of the Suites uphill.

Farewell, SPG.

Westin Chicago O'Hare. One of my most common. Upgraded to a suite (one night) the day before. One of the better hotel gyms out there. Consistently excellent.

Westin Grand.

Nobody at SPG/Marriott Rewards can advise with certainty what my SPG status will be tomorrow. We'll see......
