Yes, definitely Maui. I had heard that they are building a new parking structure for self-parking, which will supposedly be free. We'll see when I get there, but I don't plan on paying for parking.

In the cost comparison, would the "buy 4 nights, and the 5th is free" also apply ... or is that program now dead as of Aug 18?

5th night free is on awards bookings, not paid bookings. There may be a promo with a 5th night free, however those are usually priced to make up for that "free" night.

I see at least 3 similar threads on the Maui timeshares - seems ripe for consolidation.

6 Days + 5 Nights
in Paradise for Only $698You’re invited to experience the island of Maui, Hawaiʻi, with a
6-day, 5-night stay at The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Kāʻanapali. This ultra-exclusive offer also includes:

Your choice of 15,000 points from the Starwood Preferred Guest® program OR a $75 Resort Certificate for spa services, dining or activities during your stay

Plus a 6-day Avis® rental car for sightseeing, adventure and travel around the island
Mrs. B just received identical email offer - and I think there is a snail mail offer that came earlier this month as well. We've done this a few times over the past 15 years - it's always a great deal even compared to discounted room rates as there is no tax and no bogus resort fee. Earlier this year, we stayed at the Hyatt up the street on a similar offer.

Be advised that you rarely get EQN credit (even when promised) and IME the bonus points don't always post automatically (see Lagunamar discussion). Also note that at the time of booking you may be able to upgrade your offer a larger unit (i.e. if you need a 1BR to accommodate your kids) for an additional fee.

I always have to laugh remembering an obnoxious Marriott sales guy who told us that we would never receive another offer if we didn't buy from him. Of course, they continue to come every year like clockwork from Hyatt, Vistana, etc. Because they always need warm bodies to fill the sales chairs. Alas Mrs. B was unhappy with the crowd at the Hyatt this year (loud, obnoxious, low class) so I am not sure we will return to Kanapaali.

Our Aug stay on the timeshare deal did post EQN's, but had to make a couple phone calls to get the promised bonus points. My Thai GF loved Maui and would go back and do this again any time, even though they were doing serious construction at the time we were there.
