While it is under the heading of Lifetime status, it applies to everyone.

William,

Has there been any discussion over MR Gold years counting towards lifetime Plat under the new structure? 50 was Plat in SPG but Gold in MR. Seems that if you wanted to compare apples to apples MR Gold years should count.

So....

SPG plat - 50+

MR plat - 75+

MR gold - 50+

i.e. anything 50+ should count

I can see that I need to spread this around a bit more.

Thanks but we've all seen that.

The fact that MR Gold maps to new Plat further bolsters the view that MR Gold years should count for years for LT Plat in the new program.

Thanks for all your efforts William, hang in there!

LTP with M and currently SPG Plat with 28 nights this year. Is there any reason to get to SPG 50 again this year?

To get the 5 SNA's, you have to have 50 nights.

Questions regarding SNA's:

1. Current unused SPG SNA's with expiration till end of 2018: can these be used after August and can they be used on Marriott brands?
2. Current unused SPG SNA's with expiration till end of 2019: can these be used after August and can they be used on Marriott brands?
3. Will you get new SNA's under the new rule in August when the programs are merged?
4. Will you get new SNA's under the new rule after August when you qualify for 2019?

Can't find answers even remotely close to what I ask here.

come on man. LT Plat in new program already has a much better set of benefits than MR LT Gold.

And do I understand it correctly that I will get 10 SNAs when qualifying by the end of July with 50 nights (including the doubled ones)? Thanks for clarification!
I have the same promo as you, LennartH. It would only make sense if the doubled nights transferred over as part of the SPG "contribution" to the total, otherwise the promotion would be meaningless.

I'm counting on making Plat 75 by May, so if the doubled credits are counted, I will have a shot at Plat 100 and see for myself if the Ambassadors are any good

I tend to believe that, too. Or is it just hope?

He asks about SPG (!) 50... that implies that he requalifies before August. Then, it should be 10 SNAs. Or am I wrong?

So what? I did not say anything about the benefits.

50 is the number. MR Gold gets new Plat. All I am saying is years of MR Gold and years of SPG Plat (both 50) should count.

Status - Amex (CDN)

Hello I have the SPG Canadian Amex Card. One key benefit I have been enjoying is that If I reach 30K spend, I qualify for SPG gold for the next year. For example my anniversary date is October each year. If I spend 30K by Oct, I receive gold status, and last year I became Marriott Gold because of the status match between the 2 programs.

Question: I will probably reach 40K spend by end of august/beginning of September this year on my card. Will I still receive SPG gold for 2019 and will that status now be silver with Marriott if I'm understanding the rules?

Thanks!

Yeah that question is also of interest for me.... I already requalified for plat. Will i get plat 50 /75. (10sna/your24 etc) benefits for next year if i complete the 50/75 milestone this year spg only ?

Personally I would do 50 nights before August and then choose the free night certificate and spend that before August as well.

But otherwise it seems obvious to me that there is a massive gap in the benefits between 25 SPG stays and 75 nights. So with 25 stays nearly complete, I am rather unmotivated to stay much more with Stariott this year.

Sorry, what I meant to say was that since I am a current Marriott LTP and SPG Plat, is there any point in trying to get to 50 nights with Starwood? Will the elevation to Marriott LTPP make the SPG 50 a non benefit?
