And can you answer this please? I'm 100% with your answer. I received the 2X stay as well (haven't seen this since the so-called Depression days). I'm currently Plat from the past challenge, now 2 yrs straight and trying to go at least for Lifetime Gold.
When reading the elite benefits it says that award stays count towards status. I don't want that. What I need to know is if cash+points count as a stay and not an award night? I would like to go to the NFL Draft and $319+17,500pts vs $891 for 5 nights would make a major difference. Would my nights continue to double as well? I already have 3 stays and 8 nights to my credit (2 from cc & 1 Jan stay - but I have 2 cc's [AU] and I don't think that I was credited for it). I also have a stay coming up for 2 days in AC 2/12-14.

Marriott Plat switching to SPG this year. I have 6 lifetime nights, 4 YTD and received 2500+5000. Pretty good in my books.

The last time there was a similar promo, nights and stays made before registration were not doubled, but people did get extra points for stays/nights within the promo period before registration.

Got double stays (so can't complain) but there's a twist in the story.
I had a one night stay on Feb 1 and for some reason it didn't post the next day (as it almost always does for me on SPG). I waited until Feb 4 and as it still hadn't posted I contacted the property. They realised they had made a mistake which led to the booking not being closed out properly and then added the stay and points credit. Almost immediately afterwards, I went to my SPG dashboard and saw the 2x offer. I then saw the bit in the T&Cs that says that stays consumed before registering do not count.
Drat! If I had just waited a while longer to tell the hotel....

Stays and nights consumed prior to the date upon which the Eligible Members register for the Promotion (the Registration Date) may not be applied to this Promotion.

I'm not exactly clear on what clarification is needed. If this is in reference to the Stays/Nights Count Double offer, any otherwise eligible stays/nights you may have completed before registering for the offer won't count, even if they fell within the promotion period.

Nothing again for me (lifetime Gold with 400+ nights). I would be all over it if I got stays count double, after a year of medical issues kept me from re-qualifying for Platinum for the first time in about 10 years. I guess I can only hope for the next promo cycle.

The stay commencing on April 30, 2018 will be considered as one eligible stay if all other promotion terms are met. Member will receive double stay credit for this stay and double night credit for the night of April 30.
