I think that this is the key. I didn’t realize that hotels had to respond within 24 hours- that explains the 10 minute denials. I never understood before why the hotels were in such a rush to turn a request down. I think it’s very good advice to request closer to arrival. Thanks for the tip 👍

It wasn't a matter of purposely avoiding 75-nights.

It was a matter of having to essentially do a two-night mattress run to make 75. Wasn't worth the effort to me.

i disagree....i've had some great success with your24....just checked out of a property this morning where i was able to check in at 7:30am 3 days prior....saved me the cost of having to pay for an extra night....

I don't think that works indefinitely. I had a really fast denial once for a stay 3 weeks out and a few days before the stay I re-submitted and it was denied again and since then I can see a note in the reservation under "My Stay Preferences -> Other Requests:

"Y24 FINAL DENIAL. ARV:18FEB1400 DEP:19FEB1600 BY YOURAUT"

Yes. I seem to remember not being able to resubmit once. My new plan is going to be to put my first request in a week or so prior to arrival. Has anyone had any luck calling the hotel first ?

You can only submit twice per reservation. I think what was suggested is to make a new reservations (assuming rate is still available).

A Six Minute denial at the St Regis Bal Harbour last week (10 AM - 10 AM requested) at the 4 day prior mark.

I'm not really surprised since the properties seem to do a better job trying to accomodate than confirming in advance.
