It depends on the property. There is a Sheraton in Canada that I used to book this rate regularly, but the last year or so, it is not available when I tried to book it, even though it's listed as a current offer on that property's website. However, when I tried to see if it works with a nearby Aloft, the rates are available.

Very, very, very rarely, even if it's on the hotel's offer page.

I called SPG today, the person that I talked to told me it is still available but the availability depends on the hotel.

All links to this promo on starwoodhotels.com, starwoodpromos.com, and starwoodoffers.com are now dead, so I think this promo is probably history.

Kinda figured this would happen as someone who was born in 2000 would get a pretty nice deal out of it.

Great regret that I postponed taking advantage of this. Kept trying to get my mother (born 1929) to treat me to a weekend in Palm Springs.

Called my Ambassador about this since none of the links work. Sadly, she confirmed that the promotion has been terminated....

Birth Year Rate Discontinued???

Has anyone else run across a birth year promo rate this year? I've searched, and it seems to be gone from the website. Why does Marriott insist on killing the best parts of Starwood? Grrrr

It could also be that given that it's 2018 and in some places, you might only need to be 18 to check into a hotel, that it isn't a viable promotion going forward. I know that there are still many people alive from early in the 1900's, but it's just a thought.

Yup. Imagine paying $0.00 (born Year 2000) for nights 2 and nights 3.
Not surprised that this deal is not feasible moving forward.
Would be like book 1 night, get 2 nights free.
Get a new best friend for those born in the year 2000.

well, just logged onto spg.com & the Birth Year showed up on the main page offers rotation, when I clicked on it (http://www.americas.starwoodoffers.com/payyourbirthyear) , the page says "Authentication required".

Well that's any easy fix. Change terms so that for those born in the 21st century that it's $100 + birth year. So 2000 would equal $100 for additional nights. I think it's more likely Marriott gutting what were once good programs.
