Most properties with a "resort fee" or a "destination fee" list "free incoming faxes" as a benefit.
I haven't used that since the 1990s.

I am always using SPG TV.

It puts me in a great mood for earning points; business or pleasure.

If you're staying a real techie place, there can be a button on the phone that activates a beam pointed at one's cup to heat water, like an immersion coil. Pain though as it takes a few minutes while I have to stand there waiting which is why I don't use it if there's a coffee maker or microwave instead.

Quite frankly, my dear helvetic (OP), I'm much the same as you!

But I'll add that I have a thing for hotel stationery and set to work handcrafting written snail mail to my grandparents (especially since my grandfather is an avid collector of world postage stamps – what we sort of chaps call a 'philatelist').

I always use the kettle and resent those hotels that fail to provide one gratis or at all( eg, Four Points Barcelona charging a fee to provide one) , usually citing a lame excuse about safety regulations ( same for irons but I never use them).
Always use toothpaste ( if it's decent) when traveling hand luggage only , since my preferred brand stopped making 90mg tubes and went to 110 and 140, ie over the liquids limit. QR and EK both provide a fair size mini tube in the J Amenity kit
