Does anyone know if SPG will offer another points sale promotion before the end of this year?

Anyone who might know would probably lose their job if they said anything. All we really have is conjecture.

All you can do is look back in history to see whether similar promos have been run at a similar time of the year.

Last year there was a promo offering 25-50% off (individually targetted) around this time of year.

Travel companies can barely resist doing something for Black Friday / Cyber Monday as well...

But, no, we don't know anything. Nor will we know anything until it is announced.

Given the current global promotion plus a bunch of targeted offerings, my guess would be no.

Me, too. Still, the OP can be very confident that if a new promo is announced it will quickly be noted in this forum. Often enough, posters beat the formal announcement or a teaser from Lurker.

However, today, on View From The Wing, there is a post comment as follows:

"May want to edit to add that this time they are allowing you to buy 10000 over the usual limit. Both my husband and I did today.

Here are the terms:

Transactions must be completed between 9:00 AM ET November 1, 2017 and 11:59 PM ET December 29, 2017 to be eligible for the discount. During this promotional period, up to an additional 10,000 points in total may be purchased or received by the account holder. These points are in addition to the annual purchase/gift recipient limit of 30,000 points."

I added a question to the above comment and asked about the additional promotion cited above.

This is what I wrote:

I read your comment and immediately tried to buy an additional 10,000 points from SPG. I already bought 30,000 points earlier today.

On the SPG site at – buy points – there is nothing there that discusses the additional 10,000 points. I then called SPG and asked about the additional allowance. The person who answered knew nothing about the 10,000 additional. The agent then checked with a supervisor. After a few minutes, the agent came back on the line and said there is no additional 10,000 points allowance.

Can you tell me (us) how you made the additional purchase?

Without any response to my question and without any notice to me, my question was deleted from View From The Wing, but the initial message that claims there is an additional 10,000 points remains, indicating that there might be an additional 10,000 points authorized.

Was the post on View From the Wing an error or is there the additional 10,000 points authorized?
