SPG policy on changing confirmed prepaid reservations during natural disasters?

I have a CX hkg to Haneda flight tommorrow morning, and got an email last night from CX, advising there might be changes to the flight due to Tropical storm Saola. CX basically waived all change restrictions due to the Tropical Storm warnings.

I've made a prepaid 3 night reservations at Westin Tokyo, and passed the date to make changes, what is spg's policy in times of natural Calamity?

Perhaps those who have experiences similar can share their experiences.

SPG's policy is to file a claim with your travel insurance. But, the property will likely reschedule you for a later date if you call it directly.

I have never had a problem with a non-resort property when I have called as soon as a weather-related problem arises.

I would urge you to call to find out since these are usually handled on a case by case basis.
