"Nationality" field on SPG membership profile?
In the last few stays, I noticed that it lists my nationality as part of the guest information which is filled in automatically with my SPG profile information.
The trouble is, it lists me as North Korean.
And it's obviously not the best time to be indicating North Korea as my nationality.
I looked all over the SPG website to see where I can update the information, but couldn't see anywhere where this was listed.
Then I tried online chat and was told that:
Is this right? Will I forever be known as a North Korean guest to every hotel that I check into, and there is nothing I can do about it?
The trouble is, it lists me as North Korean.
And it's obviously not the best time to be indicating North Korea as my nationality.

Then I tried online chat and was told that:
Peter M.: I had my Supervisor look into it and was informed that this a retired field that is not in use anymore and therefore cannot be changed. May I assist with any other matter today?

Hi stargold,
Please send us a private message with your account details so we may check if there is a way we can change it on our side.

When you stay in high profile hotels you'll get a guaranteed upgrade to the Suite with the hidden cameras and microphones, so it's not all bad.
