Linking SPG to RC Acct while on Platinum Challenge?
I'm currently on the Platinum challenge for SPG, will make Gold after this week but will take another number of nights to hit Platinum. The plan is to make Platinum on SPG and then link it to RC for the status match. So, my question here is if I decide to link up the two accounts now rather than wait until I've hit the Platinum status for SPG, would that affect the status match?
For example, if I get my SPG Gold and then link it to RC to get the status match in Gold, would my RC account shows Platinum once I get my Platinum for SPG? I just want to check first before I do anything, last thing I want to do is to mess up the system ... |

We’ll be synching your accounts daily with our hotels, so keep in mind it might take up to 24 hours for your newly matched status to be reflected in your accounts. If you do something during this brief time period that results in a status upgrade or downgrade, it could also take 24 hours to appear on your linked account. Hope this helps. It is stated in the T&C: http://members.marriott.com/terms-conditions/ "Timing of Status Matching. Updated elite membership status will become effective (i) immediately after Program accounts are linked or (ii) within 24 hours after a new elite membership status in one of the Programs (whether an increase in status or a decrease in status) is reflected in his or her Rewards Program member account or SPG Program member account."
