Happily voted for the best loyalty program during its last year.

What loyalty? *wood sold everything including the kitchen sink in 2015. Next year, my *points will most likely worth less when they become Marriott points. And I still don't know what will happen with my LT Plat.
I love SPG but they were not loyal to their dedicated LT members. |
I want to support SPG forever and wish the Freddie Awards would create a write-in option allowing us to vote against the SPG acquisition by Marriott.
This is almost-certainly the last year of real SPG before Marriott takes over and destroys almost everything that brought us to this special program. :( SPG has had its up years and a few down years, but I'm really going to be sad when it's gone--and in its down years it was still a MUCH better program than Hilton or Marriott. I honestly don't think there's another similar chain that values loyalty & has great customer service out there. The end is almost here... Incidentally, for those of you thinking that Hyatt is the next-best option when SPG disappears...I don't personally believe that's the case anymore (as someone who also stayed a lot at Hyatt in the past 5 years). Go over and read their thread on Freddie voting. The responses are about 90% negative. |
Well put, moulder3! I agree with you on every point.
