Must one book through this link, or do the SPG Member Exclusive Rates show up in a search if you're logged into your account?

The link seems to just lead to a special search and booking page that invites me to enter a location etc. rather than obviously having general information about these new rates or a single list of participating properties that I can view without searching for lots and lots of locations.

Thanks.

BTW, this reminds me a bit of the recent Hyatt My Elite Rate program that I thought was wonderful. R.I.P.

After finding a rate at a hotel I'm familiar with, through the link, I logged in through the standard spg.com and searched the same property/date. It came back with the same "SPG Member Exclusive Rate ". So it appears there's no need to starting using a new booking channel for these rates.

EDIT: Be sure to read the details. It was 10% off the Prepaid rate and had the same prepaid terms - "The time for canceling without penalty has passed. If you cancel, the forfeiture amount will be 100 percent. "

I saw no discount off the flexible rate.

I've been seeing these for a couple of weeks now while doing a regular search. They are the lowest possible rate to find on spg.com.

Just to clarify Lurkers, since these rates require a membership, they should not be compared against while completing a BRG claim. Is this correct?

As with all BRG claims, the validity of the claim would be determined upon claim submission by the processing team. These rates might be in play, if they are applicable as stated in the BRG terms and conditions; however, we do not compare rates against ourselves.

Perhaps for 1 night stays, maybe 2 night stays as well. But Z#R/Z#H rates will probably be lower for longer stays that qualify/when offered

If logged in they will show, no special links needed. I actually saw this while looking for a reservation today and wondered what it was, figured it was just something I had missed before or was a special from the individual property I was looking at.

Do all hotels participate? I'm not seeing this rate at the 3-4 hotels I have stays at over the next few weeks.

The T&C does state this:

Rates requiring a paid membership in a club or other organization or a free membership in a club or other organization if such membership is contingent upon the member’s type of employment;
However, this I believe goes for the competing website. Does it also apply to SPG? Meaning, can they deny my claim because the SPG member exclusive rate is lower than the competing rate from another website?

Hi LovetoTravel83,

It may better to contact the team via [email protected] if you have a specific BRG claim in question.

Yes. That is what I said previously. We don't compete against ourselves, so using this rate to compare against another rate on our web sites isn't going to be successful. Also, if you are an SPG member, this rate is going to be used as the lowest rate available on our web sites where it is available compared against the competing rate on another site.

Yay to discounts. Boo to reduced transparency when searching/booking through other channels.

I just booked one on spg.com. It appeared when I did a normal search.

However, something strange happened when I tried to apply a SNA. The listing of my stays said I could use a SNA, I clicked into the reservation and saw the expected invitation to apply a SNA at the top, clicked, checked the box for desired room types, cl;icked to apply the SNA, and got the box saying that SNAs cannot be applied for a list of reasons, none of which applied.

Then I called the Plat Concierge and she was able to apply SNAs to my reservation. However, they apparently didn't clear in the window (the reservation is for arrival within five days) and spg.com is still selling the room type which was checked for the upgrade.

The Plat Concierge also insisted that SNAs cannot be requested if the suite type is sold out, which doesn't agree with my understanding of how this feature of the program works.

Hence I wonder whether something strange happened with my attempt to use SNAs in this case.
