How often do you get Elite benefits with a Priceline booking?
I did a search for the word Priceline and found many topics on wether or not you are supposed to get Elite benefits or Stay credit etc. when staying under a Priceline/Hotwire reservation.
My question is how often you actually do receive Elite benefits when using a Priceline/Hotwire reservation. I am not so much thinking about how often an error is made and you receive stay credit, but how often you are still upgraded or receive a Platinum amenity etc.
Thanks.

This obviously depends on the hotel and your status.I have always (to the best of my memory)received an upgrade with Starwood and HH when I arrived on a Priceline res. I never get one with Marriott. If they had limited availability, I am sure that I would have been the last elite to be upgraded (as it should be).I, however, have not always been upgraded when travelling at full fare ( many more non-priceline stays increase probability of non-available upgrade rooms and hotels that never comply). I've simply been lucky and persistent with my priceline upgrades.I always call in advance and ask when I arrive.

I'm Gold Preferred and before each reservation I had William (Starwood Lurker) add my Gold number to the res, and I showed them my Gold card on check in.
Sheraton IAH North - No benefits.
Westin Frisco (Dallas) - Upgraded.
Sheraton Atlanta Galleria - No benefits. Was told specifically 'Priceline reservations only get one type of room'. Did not argue.

If you get a HH property and you have status ,you are suppose to be treated as if you paid full price . I have had great LUCK with Starwood, but am not sure about their official policy.

I am Platinum with Starwood and have a Priceline stay coming up at the Westin Santa Clara in the next few weeks.
If I am not upgraded, that would be ok by me as I don't expect to. For the low $$$ (and the fact that it is a Priceline reservation), I don't really believe that I should be upgraded.
However, when I stay at a hotel on a Priceline reservation, do I still get to receive a Platinum amenity (such as a couple of snacks and bottle of water?) in my room? Do I still get access to a club floor for breakfast? When staying at a hotel which charges for usage of the excercise facilities, do I still get free access because of my SPG Platinum status?
Thanks.

Sorry, BoSoxFan45, I was getting ready to post something to this thread, but wanted to run it by someone else first. I should have just deleted the post when I had the opportunity, but I thought the answer was going to come right back to me, and of course it did (has) not. In the words of Arnold S., "I'll be back."

Commercial break is over...thanks for your indulgence.
Regardless of what you pay, whom you pay, where you pay, or even if you do not pay [Preferred (free) Night Award, etc.], benefits are extended to all levels of Starwood Preferred Guests in accordance to their status. This means amenities and upgrades alike. No if's, and's, or but's. If you experience anything else, please let me know, but let us be reasonable about upgrade situations. If you arrive and present your Starwood Preferred Guest card and are denied an appropriate upgrade (based upon your eligibility for it as being available at check-in), it will be because no such upgrade is available at the time you check-in, not because you paid a Priceline rate.

STARWOOD LURKER: Thanks for your precise response to the question. I have my first Priceline/Starwood (Sheraton) stay coming up since making SPG GOLD and appreciate having your full explanation on what to expect.

William-
Thanks for the gloriously unambiguous statment of favorable rules.
So, by "being reasonable about upgrades" you of course mean that if I don't get the Mayor Daley (which we know in Chicago is nicer and larger than Presidential) suite when paying 1/5 of the best available rate, I should literaly jump up and down at the front desk, and scream at the top of lungs "but I'm a PLATINUM MEMBER!"
Someone REALLY needs to do something about the new smilies. Seriously.

William,
Thanks for posting the official Starwood policy on SPG benefits when staying on various types of reservations.

To reiterate what William said, I had an experience at the Westin in Denver. The first night I was on a regular rate of $200 a night. Was upgraded to a room on a high floor, nothing else available.
The subsequent nights, was on a PCLN rate of ~$40 a night and was upgraded to one of their luxurious rooms -- much bigger, in room jacuzzi, top floor, etc. On paper a much nicer upgrade. (As it turned out, the room likely hadn't been renovated recently and was kind of dumpy.)
