Math problem for Points Geeks.
Let me preface this by saying I called the Plat hotline and was told "that's a great question". Here goes...
I have 4 buddies (separate rooms) going next weekend for 2 nights each- 8 nights total. I know I get credit for 3 as per the SPG terms and conditions. Let's assume it's $200 a night ($240 with taxes) at a Westin (no keyless). I am a Plat75 and do get the 4th point. Further, I am signed up for the Stay for More incentive. I also will put all charges on my SPG Amex. How many Amex points, Platinum gift points, stay points and bonus points can I expect from this stay?
Thanks to all in advance.

You get one welcome amenity of 500 points, assuming that you don't take the breakfast or any special gift.
For three rooms, the room rate plus any eligible additional charges (such as F&B) earn six points per dollar (two base doubled plus elite third point plus Plat75 fourth point) plus whatever additional points you earn from using the SPG AmEx card which might earn some points for the fourth room.
For SPG, double points means double base points, so four per dollar instead of two. Elite bonus points unfortunately aren't doubled.

not too difficult:
3 rooms, 200 USD / room (only room rate is used for points calculation, did not assume any incidentals), 2 nights = 1200 USD in total
8 points per USD (4 points from your ambassador level, 2 points bonus from SPG promo, 2 points from Amex)
1200 * 8 = 9600 points + 500 (platinum bonus) = 10100 points
2 additional rooms, 200 USD / room (only room rate is used for points calculation, did not assume any incidentals), 2 nights = 800 USD in total
2 points per USD (2 points from Amex)
800 * 2 = 1600 points
Total = 10100 + 1600 = 11700 points
Did I miss sth.?

Just some minor things
$1,920 ($240x8) worth of Amex charges @ 2 points/dollar = 3,840 points
Platinum amenity = 500 points
Total = 11,540 points (plus up to 2,000 for MaGC)
- 75K is not ambassador level.
- Amex earns dollars for taxes as well.
- Making a Green Choice (no mentioned by the OP, but a possibility).
- There's only one additional room, not two.
