Hey that free parking thing is worth a bundle
I didn't get too excited at first, but then I noticed that the rates are valid until March 31, 2003 (Thursday to Sunday nights).
So good rates actually. Not a W Hotel or a Westin, but good rates for NYC. And they have committed to these rates for 6 months !
I read an article today that stated that occupancy levels in NYC were similar to last year's but at the expense of lower room rates (about 20$ per night). The rates on this promo affirm that.
There is an acutal promo link that was posted earlier (and some good advice too in choosing between these 3 properties).

What is the rate code on these. I did a search and had to book at higher rates. I found for October weekend dates (Oct 5 and Oct 13) rates were the same as W Times Sq so I booked there at $208 (oouch).
I do not like the Sheraton NY but the Manhattan is OK.

Go to this URL, and select the hotel you want. The rate code will be automatically filled in for you.

Unless they're paying you $169/nt, don't stay at the NY H&T or Manhattan.

Great news! I will be in NYC between 3-4/11 and the 169$ rate is there. Another Starwood stay towards my Concorde flight
Now I only have to decide which one to choose.

I agree that the Sheraton Towers or Manhattan are *NOT* the place to use this rate. Go to the Russell!
At $189, however, these are GREAT rates if you are parking a car.

Go for the Russell! There are too many negative posts about the other Sheraton properties- not even the Sheraton Service Promise would make me consider staying at the other two.
If I can't stay at the W Times Square, then the Russell with free parking is a great deal.

Thanks from Munich too - your post saved me a good bunch of money over the lowest "regular" rate avaiable, be it on starwood.com or hilton.com...
Based on the posts here I picked the Sheraton Russell, too... guess I gotta do a search now and see why that is

Thanks for the posting. Very good price.
How is a "Continental breakfast for two" like? Coffee and a bun at the reception? I always had a buffet breakfast at SPGs, Hiltons.

In regards to the Russell it is served on the Lobby level opposite the Bar. It is served buffet style with a very good selection considering it is "free".

I just booked a room at the Russell. I was wondering if this hotel also qualifies for the 1000 point bonus?
I ask because I was only able to book it via the above link, and not the 1000 point link on the SPG website.
I love the Russell; and at $169 it's a steal.
