I still can't understand why SPG allows non participation. The properties should either be in or out if they want to be in the franchise. Does Marriott and the other heavy hitters allow opting out?

Thread housekeeping

As we've had a flurry of promotional activity in the last couple of days which has resulted in a number of different streams of discussion in this thread, I have moved some posts around so that :

1) This thread will focus on the SPG Stay for More, Oct 1st – Dec 20th 2015 promotion. I have added a wiki with the promotional details and links.

2) We have a separate specific thread for discussion of the new "SPG Dashboard" :
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/starw...dashboard.html
Even though the dashboard has only been live for a short time, we've already had more than enough questions, opinions, glitches etc to warrant a dedicated thread.

3) We have a dedicated specific thread for discussion of the 2015 "Stay at X SPG brands and earn Y Starpoints" promotion, which seems to be delivered through the new dashboard :
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/starw...tarpoints.html

If you spot a post that's in the wrong place, please feel free to alert us using the red triangle icon.

Agree... I've usually been lucky with avoiding opt-outs, but this time I'll be stung with a 34-night stay at the non-participating Westin Mumbai!

Sorry If this question had been answered somewhere else.

I have 2 consecutive 1-night bookings (total of 2 nights), Does this stay qualify with this promo?

I cant find the answer in their promo t&c or faq page.

thanks in advance.

Not unless the property posts the stay as a two-night stay rather than one stay each.

I am really disappointed about the number of non-particiapting hotels in Germany. I rarely stay two nights at the same hotels, but have two two-night-stays in Leipzig, Dresden and Frankfurt in the third quarter planed. This will now most likely be moved to other chains or cut short to one nighters.

GERMANY
Aloft Stuttgart
Element Frankfurt Airport
Four Points by Sheraton Munich Central
Four Points by Sheraton Munich Olympiapark
Le Méridien Grand Hotel Nuremberg
Le Méridien Hamburg
Le Méridien Munich
Le Méridien Parkhotel Frankfurt
Le Méridien Stuttgart
Sheraton Essen Hotel
Sheraton Frankfurt Congress Hotel
Sheraton Hanover Pelikan Hotel
Sheraton Munich Westpark Hotel
Sheraton Offenbach Hotel
The Westin Bellevue, Dresden
The Westin Grand Frankfurt
The Westin Leipzig

At least the hotels in Berlin are participating.

... and nice to see, that the hotels in Belgium participate as well.

The complete list of which was already posted a mere 10 posts above yours...

(I can forgive newbies for not reading threads before posting - moderators should know better.)

On the SPG homepage that cycles through some ads, promos, and offers, this one was indicated as last chance. Clicking on the box to register brought me to a page inviting me to join SPG. Repeating the process resulted in a message saying that I had already registered. Very strange.

I've got a stay coming up later this month at the Chatwal. Its non-appearance on the list is a happy surprise to me, given that it's pricier than all the excluded NYC hotels except maybe the St. Regis. . . . Unless Luxury Collection hotels are just excluded per se -- does anyone know? The list itself doesn't mention it.

The Pay Your Birth Year rate would be considered to be an eligible rate as far as SPG Stay for More is concerned, as long as the other tenets of the offer are met.
