Thanks in advance for the help!
We will have to wait for the FAQ coming on September 23rd.

Regardless, thanks for the heads-up William! ^
I can say with some confidence that any eligible bookings made before the promotion starts, but still fall within the promotion period will count.

Interesting approach, as the promo starts next month.

My regular 3 night stay every week will work nicely with this promo.

I think the whine is "nothing in September, so I'll move those".

That is the only way you can show companies. You vote with your wallet. If enough people do something similar, it will show them.

Personally I don't think this promo is so bad it's worth leaving/cancelling. But I also don't think it's worthy of shifting stays over to *wood. More of a status quo promo imo.

Works nicely for me, -- thanks William! Regular points as PLT, plus points for SPG AMEX and now points for this promo, too. If SPG is trying to motivate behavior, they've won with me. I'll happily turn several two night stays into three nighters.

I understand that it is all about the # of nights and $$$$, but this promotion does nothing for us one night stand, in and out, people.
At least SPG could throw us an occasonal bone.

I suspect that's quite intentional.

Well, it is quite obvious that this promo is meant to retain the most profitable clients (ie multiple nighters), rather than to attract new clients. [One nighters are notoriously unprofitable on a ABC analysis] If only they run the ABC analysis more often for the Suite upgrades...

Too bad that I only got to see this post from William only today - would have allocated all my Sept nights to the competition instead!

We have to get used to weak promos, I believe... and at least, SPG has promo quite often. IME this one is still better than the summer one, but weaker than the Sheraton free night one...

this is nice as long as it doesnt have a limit. That would mean 6 points per dollar for a plat 75 correct?

Now the big question... I am plat 50 at the moment, and I will be staying for 10 days (3 rooms) in an spg hotel. I will have 80 nights at the end of my stay. Will I get the 6 points or 5 points?

IIRC, status is only granted after the stay posted and then the associated benefits apply. In other words, unless you break your stay and return after the new status posted (tough), you will probably be only getting Plat50 perks.

Does this stack with the Birth Year promo (NBR)? Looking for a four night stay in Chicago in November!
