Promo doesn't sway me either way. I will stay in SPG properties when they are convenient and not when they aren't. Would have to be a richer promo than this to get me to shift behavior.

But happy to take extra points when my travels swing me through a Starwood prop anyway.

500 points for stays of 3 night or more - assume we stay 3 nights, that is 166 more points per night; assume also a night costs 150 - 200 USD, that is 333 more points per night on average, totally we are talking about 500 more points per night (more or less in par with make it count - 1000 more points for 2 night stay).

Big headache is that we need to stay 3 or more nights to get the 500 points bonus.

Might have to change my 6 nighter in November to 2 3-nighters at nearby properties!

Who am I kidding, I'll keep what I have. Not worth the packing and moving for 500 points.

Naturally I've got majority of my stays for the rest of the year in September and the last week of December. Oh well, free points is free points!

T's/C's and FAQs

Thanks for the info - looks great. Quick question though: if I have a stay that checks in on 12/20 and out on 12/24, would I qualify for this promo? Alternatively, what about a stay that begins on 12/18 and ends on 12/22?

Thanks in advance for the help!

No, that's two one-night stays.

You'll have to wait for the answer:

I guess I'm in the minority. I actually think this is a pretty good promo. Thanks for the advance notice.

IMHO, to be really good, a Q4 promo has to be stackable with the notion of "one night status renewal stays". This one pointedly isn't.

One thing I hadn't noticed was that there will be non-participating hotels. I thought we were past that.

I don't think we'll ever be past that - otherwise the promos will be eternally medicore

As long as this promo doesn't include language that requires stays to be booked "on or after x date" I will be very happy with this one!

Regardless, thanks for the heads-up William! ^
