Thanks, William!

Since SPG points cost $0.035 each to buy, as long as you don't spend more than $35/night, you should come out ahead.

Welcome to Flyer Talk!

Exactly what this promo is trying to do. Welcome to FT wynbns!

And they accomplish exactly what they intended. (And maybe you'll find you prefer arriving a day early and keep doing it even after the promotion ends.)

If the points are worth $0.035 each, then he's effectively getting a $35 discount for Sunday night. That's not the same thing.

Thanks, William!
This sounds like you're planning to charge your employer for an unnecessary hotel night every week just to earn 1,000 extra SPG points.

Compared to a good promo this is terrible. [Pauses to remember the bonus free night after 2 or 3 stays promos of days gone by]. Compared to no promo it's OK. Might be a small motivator to do an extra summer weekend away.

I'd argue getting a proper night's rest prior to work is not unnecessary

"Unnecessary"? But is it beneficial? Arriving earlier at the office and well-rested has some value.

Update?

Been quite a while since the sneak peek, and June is just a few days away. If they are going to do this, why delay this much? Unless they decided to play United to Marriott's Delta...

When SPG is ready to announce the details, I promise not to slip the note in my back pocket and sit on it. Until then, we are all in wait-mode.

I expected no different! But, do you have any reconfirmation that they are still doing it?

I guess the registration won't be before 6/1 (Monday) but the offer would apply starting with the first weekend (6/5 is Friday), I guess?
