Effective December 17, 2017 the SPG partnership with Uber will come to an end.
Members who have met all of the requirements to earn Starpoints in accordance with the SPG-Uber benefits program, including, without limitation, having a Stay posted to their SPG Member account for the current calendar year will continue to earn Starpoints on Uber rides up until 11:59PM on December 17, 2017.
If the stay overlaps with the program end date, you will still earn 2 starpoints per USD 1 spent on Uber rides taken during your stay. Any rides taken after 11:59 on December 17, 2017 even if taken during a stay that originated on or before December 17, 2014 will not earn starpoints on that uber ride.

Why did I recently have a delay in my Starpoints posting for my Uber rides?
An issue was identified affecting Uber rides over the last month that delayed the posting of points to member accounts. We have since fixed this issue and members should receive all ride credits within the stated 2-4 week period.

Uber Partnership Update
With your SPG and Uber accounts linked and you have met a requirement of ONE qualifying stay in the current calendar year, SPG members will earn 1 point per dollar spent with Uber on every day rides. For rides during stays, SPG members will earn 2 points per dollar spent on Uber (Preferred), 3 points per (Gold or Platinum), or 4 points per (Plat75).
There is a maximum of $10,000 in points-earning spend with Uber per calendar year. This means that you could have up to 40,000 SPG points with this promotion (if you were a Plat75 and only used Uber while on SPG stays and maxed out $10,000 in Uber services).

Or previous stays this calendar year will apply and I can start earning right now?

I dont believe its retroactive to past stays. My interpretation is you just need one stay per year (after registering) for it to stay linked.

I tried registering and it's not working for me. It says either my last name or email address are not matching between SPG and Uber. I checked both profiles and email addresses match and so does my last name. So, unsure what's wrong...

Earning Starpoints for Any Uber Usage:
Subject to Section 2.2.b of these SPG-Uber Benefits Program Terms, Participants who meet the eligibility criteria set forth in Section 1 of these SPG-Uber Benefits Program Terms and who have at least one Stay already posted to their SPG Member account in the current Calendar Year will earn one base Starpoint for every one U.S. dollar or its foreign equivalent denomination spent on fares for any Uber Usage.
Each Participant will only be able to earn base Starpoints for fares on any Uber Usage up to a maximum spend of $10,000 U.S dollars or its foreign equivalent denomination on Uber Usages per Calendar Year (“Maximum Spend Amount”) pursuant to this Section 2.2 of these SPG-Uber Benefits Program Terms.
Participants will begin earning Starpoints for any Uber Usage that occurs 24 hours after (1) such Participant completes his/her registration for the SPG-Uber Benefits Program and (2) at least one Stay has posted to his/her SPG Member account during the current Calendar Year, regardless of the order of when the Stay was posted and when he/she completed the registration.

You will become eligible to earn Starpoints in accordance with the SPG-Uber benefits program 24 hours after you have both registered for the SPG-Uber benefits program and your first Stay has posted to your SPG Member account for the current calendar year. If you are registered for the SPG-Uber benefits program but do not have a Stay posted to your account for the current calendar year, you will begin earning Starpoints in accordance with the SPG-Uber benefits program 24 hours after your first Stay within the current calendar year posts to your SPG Member account.
“Calendar Year” means any time between 12:00 A.M. local time on January 1st of any year and 11:59 P.M. local time on December 31st of the same year; provided that for purposes of determining whether a Participant had a Stay posted to his/her SPG Member account during the current Calendar Year, any Stays that were posted to such Participant’s SPG Member account during the immediately prior Calendar Year will count as a Stay during the current Calendar Year for the period of time between 12:00 A.M. local time on January 1st and 11:59 P.M. local on January 31st of the current Calendar Year

“Uber Usage” means a single use of the following Uber’s products worldwide: UberX, UberBLACK, UberSUV, UberEXEC, UberLUX, UberPOP, UberPOOL and UberFAMILY (collectively, the “Uber Services”) (1) that is booked by a Participant using such Participant’s Uber account that he/she used to register for the SPG-Uber Benefits Program, (2) that is paid for using such Participant’s Uber account that he/she used to register for the SPG-Uber Benefits Program and (3) where such Participant is present for, and actually uses, such Uber Services. For the avoidance of doubt, Uber Usage will not include any use of Uber Services unless the applicable Participant is present for the entirety of the applicable use of the Uber Services.
