Very quick stay - paid with points - As many have mentioned, not the greatest location and the in wall AC unit is a bit loud but hotel staff were very nice and accommodating and for the amount of points I'd stay again if needed.

Partly based on input in this thread I confirmed a 2-night award stay in Oct. Reviews elsewhere including on SPG site aren't positive to say the least but have events planned so will be out all day and really need a place to sleep so will hope it offers a basic stay. 3K SPG per night is a good value.

Looks like its been recategorised - now 7000 points/night instead of 3000/4000
I have 2 nights booked at 3000 points//night that I don't really need but I hate the idea of missing out on a bargain no matter how useless it might be.

Of course, this makes perfect sense for Vegas, since weekend rates tend to go up but a Cat. 2 becomes cheaper on points...
I also have a couple of weekends booked that I guess I'll have to stick with.

This hotel is Category 1 or 2 at best.
I've stayed here because it was cheap and I need to farm some stays to maintain platinum when I'm not doing enough SPG but for this hotel to be category 3 it needs a hell of a lot of work.
Chairs have cig burnt holes in almost every room I've been in.
Shower looks like it's been through hell and back at least twice.
Bed is not comfortable...
The hall ways have dirty carpeting and looks like they've not cleaned them since they opened.
IMHO if category 3 its better to stay at the Element instead of this if redeeming points or just pay cash on the strip...
Like... for $50 on the strip you can get an updated room at Ballys or the LINQ, albeit no SPG relations....

After a 2-night stay here last weekend came away pleasantly surprised. Sure the location is not ideal but the walk on a warm Oct. Sat. afternoon for me was 25 minutes so doable. Friendly staff overall. Buffet breakfast pretty basic but does the job. I liked the full size shower stall in the bathroom instead of the short little tub/shower combo. The room lacked a mini-fridge and the AC unit is loud but still pretty comfortable and no issues with the Wi-Fi as other have reported.
For 3K it proved great value so glad I gave it a try but may consider other hotel options with the new 7K award level.

The Sheraton Four Points Flamingo East wins the award for being the worst stay I have had in over a decade,
Pluses:
Staff was warm, friendly, and tried to help.
There was no resort or parking charge.
Minuses:
Checked-in on the mobile app at 14:30. Arrived at the hotel as scheduled at 17:30. Room not ready. Had to wait another 20-minutes.
Internet is so slow I used my phone as a hotspot. Owner is not paying for anywhere near sufficient bandwidth. I couldn't get pages to load at all.
Thought I was in a handicap room. Shower stall has a three-inch lip and a curtain.
No refrigerator.
Safe was locked shut and unusable.
Left today at 10:00 and came back at 23:30. Room was not serviced.
Will never stay here again. Had a reservation over Memorial Day weekend. Cancelled. Had to use my phone, of course.
I am left with the impression that the owner is incredibly cheap.

But it seems to me that SPG decides on new award categories, then the hotel finds out and says something along the lines of "no thanks, we don't want so many award nights".
I've mentioned it before... this hotel and its rates don't justify anything more than a 2, but the way Las Vegas rates work (way more expensive at the weekend) means that the hotel would lose a lot of revenue by allowing 3,000 point per night stays at the weekend. I would probably prefer it staying as a Category 3 than playing availability games to avoid standard room availability at the weekend...

I stayed here a few weeks ago and would stay again if I'm being cheap and don't want to stay at the LV Marriott. The free parking and no resort/destination/amenity/whatever-you-want-to-call-it fee are huge pluses, but the staff was also super friendly. My only (minor) "complaint" was that breakfast was nothing to write home about. There was no buffet, but just a server who brought out a plate of eggs, bacon, and toast, juice, etc. Is this normal, or maybe something they do when occupancy is low? I was looking forward to the buffet that was mentioned upthread.
