I dont care what you wear, if you EARNED the lounge, not paid a $20 upgrade at the FD. The lounges were much nicer before access was sold

Not a chance in hell

In my personal life, I avoid walmart for disorganization and just a crappy environment. Opening the lounge to anyone deflates the experience and the reward we EARNED through loyalty.

Unless you were the father who had his 4 kids each leaving the lounge with 4 sodas and about a dozen bags of chips from the PVD Sheraton last week.

The lounge is not there as a "reward" for your loyalty. It's there as part of a business plan. It's intention is to add to the property's bottom line. It does this in several ways - one is by up-selling guests. A completely acceptable practice.

If you think comped lounge guests don't hoard and run, well......I don't want to deflate your experience any further.

If I might add that this was the original purpose of the club lounge concept. Complimentary access for elite members came later, but not too much so. Hence the confusion, I think.

This again? Guys, it's a place to eat breakfast at a hotel, not the Harmonie Club. I typically will go in the t-shirt I slept in, shoes with no socks and a pair of jeans or shorts. Unshowered I might add. I go, I eat quickly, I leave. I don't have time to judge what anyone else is wearing or to care. If everyone would adopt that philosophy, we'd all be a lot happier.

That describes me in the morning. After work I will change into some comfortable shoes as I would at home and relax if it is a nice lounge like those in Asia.

I have to admit it,Im realy broad minded, bit this fetish abouth feet that so many people seem to have, well,it sort of groses me out, maybe my wrong

What if the father of 4 in PVD earned the right to be in the lounge because of his loyalty to the brand? Did you not get any chips because his kids wiped out the inventory?

And that's the reason some lounges have a policy of only consuming food/drinks in the lounge. I've had GM's tell me stories about how a family (not that it's just families) comes in and completely wipes out the snacks on one swoop and takes them back to their room.

Yet I can't count how many times the lounge attendant has encouraged me to fill a plate, if not my pockets, to take back to my room. Happened to me twice in the last week alone.

Cheers,

No judging here, but would you do the same in the hotel restaurant? Methinks probably not. What makes the club lounge different? I'm not holding a hard angle here -- just trying to understand, truly. I can't begin to imagine stumbling out of bed in my sleep clothes and walking into the club lounge where 30 other people are eating breakfast. Maybe that's just my thing. Just seems like since I'm going to soon enough shower and get ready, why not wait to go out after I'm dressed and ready? Is that weird?

Interesting. In my experience, I'm the worst dressed one in Asian lounges. Typically, patrons are dressed to the nines there! I don't remember EVER seeing anyone dressed in loose fitting t-shirts there!

I've certainly done it in the breakfast area of Hampton Inns. The last thing I'm going to do when traveling is worry about what a bunch of people I'll never see again think about my attire at breakfast.
