Comments: It was for a huge conference. I stayed for 6 nights, so was not expecting an upgrade, figuring that there would be lots of plats to compete with. But I guess there weren't, as I didn't have to ask, and was just upgraded upon arrival.

However, 48hrs before, I was notified that there were no suites available, so my SNAs were returned. I was pretty annoyed, as I've had really good luck with suite upgrades as a PLT, and the ONE trip with my husband was not going to be upgrade. But then, upon arrival, they upgraded us to the Luxury, bi-level suite. The surprise was of course very welcome!
Comments: The Luxury Suite was beautiful. Two floors, two GIANT balconies looking over the ocean. Both balconies (one on each floor) had a full dining room table. The views were spectacular. The hotel is currently in the middle of a major renovation, but during our stay there was no construction, and we didn't even notice. I hope to return and see the new rooms/suites when they are renovated.

Comments: I planned an event here, and booked 18 rooms all together along with meetings/catering, etc. I was upgraded to a suite upon arrival, though I don't think they even realized I was PLT, as they didn't put me on an SPG floor, and didn't offer me access to the lounge until day 2 (the manager found me to fix my key). I suspect they upgraded me because I was the main event planner and was paying for everything. Either way, it was a beautiful suite, and since I was working in the hotel 24/7 during the event, the extra room was needed!

Comments: Just a 2 night stay, but nice to kick our vacation off with a completely over the top suite! Giant separate living room and office, separate dining room, kitchen, and huge walk-in closet. Staff was excellent also, and Executive Lounge was one of the nicest I've seen.
