Hi -
A little bit misleading, at least for the US properties. The advertised price for most places is basically this week. Prices are significantly higher going out into the future.

developments with SPG Hot Escapes
This weekly posting has become a big yawn. This week its #30 properties, nothing special. No surprise...........fewer recent posts here!
Recently, I booked a couple of stays here - and discovered the property subsequently offered lower rates on starwood.com No problem, I thought. The property will match the lower rate and/or Plat Liaison will do so. Neither happened.
Why even book these rates if the property is going to offer lower rates and not match them??

Hotels manage pricing based on inventory and projected demand.
e.g. demand today for a stay on July 4th might be high, but come July 1st, the weather projected for July 4th is bad, hence a huge drop in prices.
therefore, a discount price today does not guarantee/offer/suggest higher pricing in the future.
Either you lock in your price now and live with it, book a cancelled rate and eat the up-charge difference, or not just book and wait last minute.

There is a good chance there are hotels that are on the promo, just not showing on the web page, for instance 4P Brisbane is currently offering Hot Escape rates yet is not featured on the Hot Escapes page.

As noted in the main Hot Escapes thread, this has now ended, so we'll close this thread.
