Having similar issues as mentioned by mgkelly above:

- I frequently fly between KWI and DXB and have had the SPG Plat-EK Skywards link for years and 'PARTNER' always gets printed on my boarding pass.
- At KWI, I NEVER get allowed priority boarding despite showing EK ground staff their own website; they always say they've never heard of the program and despite speaking to a supervisor on the ground this past weekend, he said he didn't know about it and basically disavowed himself of any responsibility even though the black-and-white on Emirates' website clearly spelled it out. One of the boarding agents was nice enough to offer me boarding at the beginning 'as an exception.'
- I sent a complaint via the EK website form a few days ago but haven't heard anything since.
- Spoke to a supervisor at DXB who [rather apathetically and indifferently, if I may be honest] himself said he'd never heard of it and that EK ground staff are basically only informed about the benefits of their own Skywards program and not so well-versed in tie-ups with other programs and service providers, so it seems this is a bigger issue than thought. He gave me a direct e-mail to write to and said I'll get a response based on the priority/severity of the matter, so... who knows.

Aside from the few Starpoints one gets, I'm considering just switching to Flydubai or Jazeera and joining the masses rather than deal with misinformed staff who don't otherwise care. This isn't a generalization but rather a reflection of my own repeated experiences and - call it bad luck, if you will - of always coming face-to-face with surly EK staff.

As an update to my previous question, there is now a website ( Your World Rewards ) that says that if Emirates Skywards & SPG accounts were linked before 15th July 2018, we continue to earn and receive benefits. This is indeed happening for me.

This is my question: my Emirates Skyward account is linked to SPG account. I have not merged the Marriott and SPG accounts yet.
Can someone (a questions for Lurkers maybe?) help me understand if I will be receiving the benefits after I merge the accounts?

I have had no points since the merger post to my Emirates Account. Is this another IT glitch we have to patiently wait to be resolved? Have other people had points since the merger?

Benefits when flying Emirates

Previously I had linked my SPG account to my Emirates account. There were a number of benefits to be accrued. What has happened since the merger, is the agreement still in place? I have searched both Emirates and Marriott but there I am having trouble finding that specific association. Of course my skywards was linked to my old SPG number which has been replaced with a new Marriott number. Can anyone clarify what the status is now? I am currently Marriott plat and Emirates nothing.

I believe it is.
I linked my SPG account and my Skywards account prior to merge.
I was then merge my SPG account to my RC Rewards account (retain my RCR number) and I still receive those extra Emirates miles and SPG (now MR) points

Btw I got MR Pltpa and EK silver

It is encouraging to hear. Did you receive priority checkin or boarding or did you receive that from your Emirates status?

Got them from the class I travel.
Not sure if you can get priority check in and boarding based on SPG/MR status

In turn, all SPG Platinum members will enjoy some of the advantages of Emirates Skywards elite like priority check-in and priority boarding when flying Emirates. Members will also receive complimentary e-gate access for flights in and out of Dubai.
