My bad, I meant EK points, not SPG points. What I should have said is, "you'll only earn EK Skywards Miles on Starwood stays, if you're a Emirates Skywards® Silver, Gold or Platinum member."

Apologies for the confusion.

OK Just signed up. Thanks SPG (though I don't fly EK all that much, I find EY to be superior in most ways if I ever need to go to the region)

Sorry to know that you have been "opted out". However, would you be able to elaborate further so that I can find out if this is something out of the norm?

In addition, here is a little piece of information that might help.

An SPG Member who also is an elite member of BOTH the Emirates Skywards program and the Delta Skymiles program will need to elect whether he/she wants to earn Skywards Miles or miles in the Delta Skymiles program for Stays at SPG Participating Hotels by visiting spg.com/myairlinepartner. The program that is elected by an SPG Member at the time that a Stay is posted to his/her SPG Program account will govern whether Skywards Miles or miles in the Delta Skymiles program are awarded for that Stay at an SPG Participating Hotel. An SPG member may switch his/her preferred bonus currency at any time.

That seems to be when I was opted out of the Your Worlds Rewards. After I chose DL, I received an e-mail saying that I had opted out of the Your World Rewards entirely. I didn't see anything indicating that I was withdrawing from it.

Thought some of you may be interested in some data points for this:

For a stay Nov 18-20, EK points posted to my account on Dec 04
For a stay Nov 25-27, EK points posted to my account on Dec 07
For a stay Nov 24-28, EK points posted to my account on Dec 07
For a stay Dec 02-04, EK points posted to my account on Dec 14

Hope that helps before someone asks “How long does it take for EK points to post?”

I have had 4 EK flights and 4 Starwood stays since this announcement was made .

So far 2 of my stays have credited on my EK account in a similar timescale to the above, but no Starpoints have credited for my EK flights. Anyone had any Starpoints credited
for EK flights yet??

I just joined this program as Emirates Gold.

However I never had much luck with SPG and this streak continues.

So my first booking at SPG (prepaid no less) and the hotel refuses to honour the benefits outlined in the offer.

Now I need to complain and be aggravated, really not worth the trouble.

Thumbs down SPG property refuses to honour the offer

I just joined this program as Emirates Gold.

However I never had much luck with SPG and this streak continues.

So my first booking at SPG (prepaid no less) and the hotel refuses to honour the benefits outlined in the offer, no free internet included (USD24 a day).

Now I need to complain and be aggravated, really not worth the trouble.

My apologies for the inconvenience, but if you change your mind, we'd be glad to look into this further.

After Starwood Emirates partnership - what benefits can I expect while flying?

My membership status with Emirates is 'Blue'.
I enrolled in the new Starwood and Emirates partnership.
I can see my account being linked in both Starwood and Emirates.

I have a flight next week with Emirates.
What kind of benefits can I expect with Emirates because I am a Platinum member with Starwood?

My other question is:
I have my Alaska Airlines # linked to my current booking (as I am a MVP75), should I change it to Emirates # to receive any benefits as Starwood Platinum or should I just leave it with AS #?

Hi soap_bubbles,

As an SPG Platinum Member, you will receive bonus Starpoints when flying on eligible Emirates flights if meet the eligible criteria. In addition, you will receive Your World Rewards in-airport benefits when flying with Emirates Airlines.

You may check this link for more information.

If you include a frequent flyer number for a loyalty program other than Emirates Skywards in your booking, you are not eligible to earn Starpoints for that flight even if you are registered for Your World Rewards and are an SPG Platinum member.

I think this program is jacked up. I just received the opt out message for no apparent reason.

Everything seemed to be fine in the beginning.....

I have a flight on EK coming up so I will see what happens.

If you've been opted out, especially for reasons unknown, you might want to sort this out before the flight takes place. We'd be glad to assist if you'd send us the details via Private Message or email.

So as I understand it, when I choose DL, I get DL points for SPG stays. I also get SPG points for flying DL. I am elite on both.

But since I am not elite on EK and chose DL as my partner in my SPG account, I should still get SPG points when flying EK as I have (had) this in the EK account. But now that I have been opted out that will not happen.

So either the IT is faulty or SPG terms originally stated are not valid.

Can I not get SPG points for both flying DL and EK? I understand I will only get DL points when staying at SPG, it makes sense to only get one.

So did I completely waste my time for registering the promotion with EK?
