Platinum Renewal 2014: now or later?

I recently got platinum status in Jan2014. Since then I've already completed 45 nights, is there any benifit in achieving the 50 nights in the next few weeks or should I delay it till later in the year to extend the plat status?

It doesn't work like that. Whether you hit it now or later this year, you'll have Platinum status all of next year.

Completing it now would get you 10 SNA's that you can start using earlier.

There are also benefits at 75 and 100 nights, if you continue forward with SPG - 50 nights doesn't top you out.

This is confusing. When you say you "got platinum status in Jan2014," what exactly do you mean? How did you get it?

Ah, got it -- thanks. As others have said, it doesn't matter when you re-qualify this year. Doing so at any point prior to year-end will make you Platinum through Feb. of 2016. So there's no advantage to waiting -- in fact you can possibly utilize the 10 suite night upgrade option sooner once you cross 50.

You also get 4 starpoints instead of 3 per USD.

Which is pretty much the only usable benefit.
